About RANIZUREL 0.5MG INJECTION

  • RANIZUREL 0.5MG INJECTION contains Ranibizumab, a medicine that belongs to a group called anti-VEGF agents. These agents work by blocking a protein in your body called VEGF-A. This protein is responsible for making new, unwanted blood vessels grow abnormally in the eye, which can cause serious vision problems. By blocking VEGF-A, RANIZUREL 0.5MG INJECTION helps stop this abnormal growth and can prevent further damage to your sight.
  • This injection is used for adults dealing with several eye conditions that harm vision. One common use is treating wet age-related macular degeneration (wet AMD). This condition affects the part of your eye responsible for sharp, central vision, making it hard to read, drive, or see faces clearly. Wet AMD happens when abnormal blood vessels grow under the macula, leaking fluid and blood, and RANIZUREL 0.5MG INJECTION helps seal these leaks and reduce swelling.
  • RANIZUREL 0.5MG INJECTION is also used for myopic choroidal neovascularization (mCNV). This affects people with severe nearsightedness where similar abnormal blood vessels grow at the back of the eye. It's also effective for macular edema, which is swelling at the back of the eye caused by blockages in the blood vessels leading from the eye (retinal vein occlusion or RVO). This swelling can severely blur vision.
  • Furthermore, RANIZUREL 0.5MG INJECTION is a crucial treatment for diabetic macular edema (DME) and diabetic retinopathy. Diabetes can damage the blood vessels in the retina. DME is swelling in the macula due to leaking vessels caused by diabetes, leading to vision loss. Diabetic retinopathy refers to the overall damage to the retinal blood vessels from diabetes. RANIZUREL 0.5MG INJECTION helps control the leaking and growth of these damaged vessels, preserving vision.
  • You should not receive RANIZUREL 0.5MG INJECTION if you have ever had an allergic reaction to Ranibizumab or any other ingredients in the medicine. It must also be avoided if you currently have an active infection inside or around your eye, or if your eye is very painful or red.
  • It's very important to monitor your eyes after treatment. Contact your doctor immediately if you notice any new or worsening symptoms such as increased eye pain or discomfort, increased redness of your eye, a sudden change or decrease in your vision, seeing more 'floaters' (small spots or lines drifting in your vision), or if your eyes become more sensitive to light. Always inform your doctor about any previous eye conditions, eye surgeries or treatments you've had, or if you have a history of stroke before starting treatment with RANIZUREL 0.5MG INJECTION. They need this information to make sure this treatment is safe and right for you.

To ensure comfort during the injection, a local anesthetic will be used to numb the eye area before the procedure. The dosage and how often you receive this injection will be carefully determined by your doctor. This decision is based entirely on your specific eye condition, its severity, and how you respond to treatment. Every individual's needs are different, so your doctor will tailor the treatment plan for you. It is absolutely crucial that you do not attempt to inject this medicine yourself. RANIZUREL 0.5MG INJECTION requires sterile conditions and expert technique to minimize risks and ensure effectiveness. Always follow your eye doctor's instructions and schedule for this treatment.

Benefits of RANIZUREL 0.5MG INJECTION
default alt

  • RANIZUREL 0.5MG INJECTION is a targeted treatment designed to combat certain serious eye conditions that can threaten your sight. It works by specifically identifying and attaching itself to a key protein found in the eye called human vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A). Under normal circumstances, VEGF-A has roles in the body, but when levels are too high within the eye, it becomes problematic. Excessive VEGF-A triggers the growth of weak, abnormal blood vessels that can leak fluid and blood. This leakage causes swelling (edema) in the retina, particularly in the macula, the part of the eye responsible for sharp central vision. This abnormal vessel growth and swelling significantly impair vision, often leading to blurriness, distortion, or even severe vision loss in conditions like wet age-related macular degeneration, diabetic macular edema, and retinal vein occlusion. By binding to VEGF-A, RANIZUREL 0.5MG INJECTION effectively neutralizes its harmful effects. It helps to halt the formation of new abnormal vessels, reduce leakage, and decrease swelling. This action is crucial for stabilizing vision and, in many cases, improving it, helping patients regain some clarity and maintain their independence.

How to use RANIZUREL 0.5MG INJECTION
default alt

  • RANIZUREL 0.5MG INJECTION is a special medicine that is given directly into your eye. This procedure is always performed by a qualified eye doctor (ophthalmologist) in a clinical setting. Before the injection, a local anesthetic is applied to numb your eye, ensuring the process is as comfortable as possible and minimizes any discomfort.
  • The specific dose of RANIZUREL 0.5MG INJECTION you receive, and how often you need the injection, will be determined solely by your eye doctor. This decision is based on your individual eye condition, its severity, and how you respond to treatment. Your doctor will create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs.
  • It is absolutely crucial that you do not attempt to inject this medicine yourself. Self-administration is dangerous and could cause serious harm to your eye. Giving the injection directly into the eye allows the medication to reach the back of the eye effectively, where it can treat conditions affecting the retina or macula, which are vital for clear vision. Your doctor will guide you through the process and any necessary follow-up care.
