How RELENT PLUS SYRUP 60 ML Works

• Ambroxol increases the water content of respiratory secretions and breaks down the structure of thick mucus, making it thinner and easier to cough up and clear from the airways. It also supports the production of a substance called surfactant in the lungs, which helps keep the small airways open.
• Cetirizine blocks histamine H1 receptors, reducing the sneezing, runny nose, itching and watery eyes that come from an allergic or cold-related histamine response. Being a second-generation antihistamine, it generally causes less drowsiness than older antihistamines, though some people can still feel sedated. Combining a mucolytic with an antihistamine addresses both the productive cough and the allergic-type symptoms that can occur together during a cold.

Nausea, stomach upset and headache are the most commonly reported effects. Drowsiness and dry mouth have also been reported, though less often than with older antihistamines. A severe allergic reaction, such as facial or throat swelling, a widespread rash or breathing difficulty, needs immediate medical attention.

• If you miss a dose of Relent Plus Syrup, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.

• Store the bottle in its original pack, below 25°C unless the pack states otherwise, away from direct sunlight and moisture, and out of the reach of children.

• Shake the bottle well and use the measuring cup or spoon provided for an accurate amount
• Stay well hydrated, since adequate fluid intake supports the clearance of loosened mucus
• Avoid driving or operating machinery until it is known how this syrup affects alertness
• See a doctor if the cough persists beyond about a week or is accompanied by fever or chest pain
• Discontinue and seek medical attention if a rash, facial swelling or breathing difficulty occurs

• Relent Plus can be taken with or without food. There is no other specific food interaction established for this product.
