- SANDOSTATIN LAR 10MG INJECTION contains the active substance octreotide. This is a man-made version of a natural body substance called somatostatin. - SANDOSTATIN LAR 10MG INJECTION is mainly used for people with acromegaly. This is a condition where the body makes too much growth hormone, causing hands, feet, and facial features to enlarge, along with joint pain and other issues.
