SEPTAFER INJECTION is an intravenous iron replacement therapy used to treat iron deficiency anemia (IDA) in individuals who cannot take iron orally or for whom oral iron is ineffective.
SEPTAFER INJECTION may reduce the absorption of iron preparations taken by mouth. Inform your physician about all medications and supplements you are taking.
Regular blood tests are required to monitor iron levels in the blood to prevent iron overload, which can be harmful.
If you have known allergies to SEPTAFER INJECTION or any of its components, you should not receive this medication.
SEPTAFER INJECTION can be used for pediatric patients aged 2 years and older with CKD and iron deficiency anemia. However, dosing for children under 2 years old with CKD has not been established.
SEPTAFER INJECTION does not have any known significant negative interactions with other drugs, but always inform your doctor of all medications.
Stay well-hydrated and maintain a balanced diet rich in iron-containing foods (even if you're receiving iron sucrose). This can help support the effectiveness of the treatment. Regular blood tests and monitoring may be necessary to ensure the safe and effective use of Septafer injection 5ml.
