Like all medicines, Septran Syrup can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. **Common Side Effects (may affect up to 1 in 10 people):** * Feeling sick (nausea) * Being sick (vomiting) * Diarrhea * Loss of appetite * Skin rash **Uncommon Side Effects (may affect up to 1 in 100 people):** * Hives (urticaria) * Itching (pruritus) **Rare Side Effects (may affect up to 1 in 1,000 people):** * Mouth ulcers * Sore tongue **Very Rare Side Effects (may affect up to 1 in 10,000 people):** * Serious skin reactions (e.g., Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis), which may start as reddish target-like spots or circular patches often with central blisters on the trunk. * Swelling of the face, lips, or throat (angioedema) * Difficulty breathing * Blood disorders (e.g., thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, agranulocytosis, aplastic anemia, megaloblastic anemia) – may cause unexplained bleeding, bruising, fever, sore throat, or tiredness. * Kidney problems * Liver problems (e.g., hepatitis) * Inflammation of the bowel (pseudomembranous colitis) * Muscle pain or weakness * Joint pain * Hallucinations * Seizures (fits) * Headache * Dizziness * Tiredness * Insomnia * Depression * Hearing problems * Inflammation of the eye (uveitis) * Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) **Other Side Effects (frequency not known):** * Allergic reactions (e.g., anaphylaxis) * Photosensitivity (increased sensitivity to sunlight) * Cough * Shortness of breath * Pulmonary infiltrates (lung problems) * Vasculitis (inflammation of blood vessels) * Pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas) * Rhabdomyolysis (muscle breakdown) * Hyponatremia (low sodium levels in the blood) **Important Information:** This is not a complete list of side effects.
