SOLIWAX O EAR DROPS 10 ML does not pose serious side effects and is well-tolerated by children. In case the side effects do occur, they’re likely to subside once the body adapts to the medicine. Consult your child’s doctor if these side effects persist or bother your child.

General Ear Safety
Use only in intact earsSoliwax ear drops are intended for use only in the external ear canal and should not be used if you have a known or suspected perforated eardrum unless specifically advised by an ear specialist.
Using this medicine is not mandatory for every child. Its use may help prevent pain, ringing in the ears, and infection in children who use hearing aids or have a history of excessive earwax. Discussion with your child’s doctor will help determine whether anything should be done for your child.
There is no standard time to prevent or clean earwax buildup. It is a natural process and nothing needs to be done unless excess earwax accumulates. Ask your child’s doctor if there is anything special that you can do to prevent or reduce the accumulation of earwax.
Cotton-tipped swabs can remove some wax but they often simply push the wax deeper into the ear. This may traumatize the ear canal or even worsen earwax buildup. So, it is not advised to use cotton swabs deep into the ear canals.
Removing the earwax may improve your child’s hearing if the hearing issues were due to blockage in the ear canal. However, remember that SOLIWAX O EAR DROPS 10 ML does not play any role in improving hearing abilities. If your child’s hearing continues to be reduced, make sure to consult an expert.
Ask your child to lie down or sit with the affected ear facing up. Hold the dropper directly over the ear, and place the prescribed number of drops into the ear canal. To help the drops roll into the ear, hold the earlobe down and back. Keep the head tilted for about 2 minutes, or insert a piece of cotton if your doctor directs you to do so. Doing so will help keep the medicine in contact with your ear canal. Repeat for the other ear if so directed. Do not rinse the dropper. Replace the cap after use. Wash your hands after using the medicine.
Use SOLIWAX O EAR DROPS 10 ML in your child as suggested by your child’s doctor. After your initial appointment, prefer giving it at a fixed time daily to help soften the wax. Then, use it weekly until your child’s review appointment. To prevent missing doses, make a note each time you put SOLIWAX O EAR DROPS 10 ML in your child’s ear.
Blockage due to hard earwax plug may cause ear discomfort, sense of ear fullness, itching in the ears, dizziness, ringing in the ears, or reflex cough. If your child complains of any of these symptoms, visit the doctor who will check and figure out the reason behind the symptoms.
Avoid using both medicines at one time. Keeping a sufficient time gap between the two medicines allows better absorption and effect of the medicine. You can ask your child’s doctor to find out how long you should wait before using the second medicine.
Always follow the instructions mentioned on the label of the medicine container about storage. Ideally, you should keep SOLIWAX O EAR DROPS 10 ML at room temperature beyond the reach of the small children and pets. Do not freeze the medicine.
Soliwax ear drops are used to soften and help remove excessive or hardened earwax (cerumen) from the external ear canal. By loosening the wax, they can relieve symptoms such as a blocked sensation in the ear, mild discomfort, and temporary reduction in hearing caused by wax build-up. They are not intended to treat ear infections or other causes of ear pain or hearing loss.
Use Soliwax ear drops exactly as directed on the product label or by your doctor or pharmacist. Typically, you tilt your head or lie on your side with the affected ear facing up, instill the recommended number of drops into the ear canal, and remain in that position for a few minutes to allow the drops to penetrate the wax. Do not insert any objects deep into the ear to spread the drops. Do not exceed the recommended frequency or duration of use on the package. If you are unsure about the correct technique or duration, ask a healthcare professional for guidance.
There is limited specific safety data on the use of Soliwax ear drops in pregnancy, and formulations may differ by brand. Because the drops are applied locally to the ear canal and systemic absorption is expected to be very low, the risk to the unborn baby is likely to be low when used as directed. However, if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, you should consult your doctor or pharmacist before using Soliwax ear drops to ensure they are appropriate for your situation and to rule out other causes of ear symptoms.
When Soliwax ear drops are used as directed in the ear canal, systemic absorption is expected to be minimal, so the amount, if any, reaching breast milk is likely to be very small. Therefore, the risk to a breastfed infant is expected to be low. Nevertheless, because formulations vary and safety data in breastfeeding may be limited, you should speak with your doctor or pharmacist before using Soliwax ear drops while breastfeeding, especially if your baby is premature or has health problems.
Soliwax ear drops are applied locally to the ear canal, and systemic absorption of the ingredients is expected to be very low when used as recommended. Therefore, they are unlikely to have a significant effect on liver function in most people. However, if you have severe liver disease or are taking multiple medicines that affect the liver, it is still advisable to consult your doctor or pharmacist before using any new product, including Soliwax ear drops, to ensure it is suitable for you.
Because Soliwax ear drops act locally in the ear canal and are not intended to be absorbed into the bloodstream in significant amounts, they are unlikely to have a direct effect on kidney function when used as directed. People with kidney disease can usually use topical earwax-softening drops, but you should still check with your doctor or pharmacist, particularly if you have advanced kidney disease or are on multiple medications, to confirm that Soliwax ear drops are appropriate for you.
Soliwax ear drops are not known to impair alertness, coordination, or reaction time, so they are not expected to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery directly. However, if you experience temporary changes in hearing, a sensation of fullness, dizziness, or imbalance after using the drops, you should avoid driving or using machines until these symptoms have resolved. If such symptoms are severe or persistent, seek medical advice.
There is no known direct interaction between Soliwax ear drops and alcohol because the drops act locally in the ear canal and systemic absorption is expected to be minimal. Moderate alcohol consumption is unlikely to affect the action of the drops. However, excessive alcohol intake can worsen balance and dizziness, which may be confusing if you are also experiencing ear-related symptoms. Always drink responsibly and consult your doctor if you have concerns about alcohol use with any medication.
You should not use Soliwax ear drops if you are allergic to any of the ingredients listed on the product label. Do not use them if you have a known or suspected perforated eardrum, ear tubes (grommets), recent ear surgery, or if you have ear discharge, severe ear pain, or bleeding from the ear unless advised by a doctor. People with chronic ear infections or skin conditions affecting the ear canal should consult an ear specialist before using any earwax-removal product.
Most people tolerate Soliwax ear drops well when used as directed. Possible side effects may include mild, temporary irritation, stinging, itching, or redness in the ear canal. In rare cases, an allergic reaction may occur, with symptoms such as rash around the ear, swelling, or worsening discomfort. If you experience severe pain, marked irritation, dizziness, or signs of an allergic reaction, stop using the drops and seek medical advice promptly. Report any unexpected or persistent side effects to your doctor or pharmacist.
Whether children can use Soliwax ear drops safely depends on their age and the specific product formulation. Some earwax-softening drops are suitable for children above a certain age, while others are intended for adults only. Always read the package leaflet for age restrictions and dosing instructions. For infants and young children, do not use any ear drops without first consulting a pediatrician or ear, nose, and throat (ENT) specialist, as their ear structures are more delicate and symptoms may have other causes.
