How STREPSILS ORANGE LOZENGES TABLET 8'S Works

• As the lozenge dissolves slowly in the mouth, amylmetacresol and 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol are released locally in the throat, where they disrupt the structure of the outer membrane of some bacteria and viruses, reducing the number of germs present in the immediate area.
• The lozenge also stimulates saliva production, which helps to soothe and lubricate a dry, irritated throat, adding a further layer of comfort alongside the antiseptic action.

A temporary burning or tingling sensation, or a sore mouth or tongue, can occur. Nausea or mild stomach discomfort has also been reported, particularly with frequent or prolonged use. An allergic reaction is uncommon but needs immediate medical attention if it occurs, including a rash, swelling of the face, tongue or throat, or difficulty breathing.

• Strepsils Orange Lozenges are used for symptomatic relief of sore throat. As they are taken as needed, there is no specific 'missed dose' to be concerned about. Simply take a lozenge when you experience sore throat symptoms.

• Store the lozenges in their original pack, below 25°C, away from direct sunlight and moisture, and out of the reach of children.

• Allow the lozenge to dissolve slowly; do not chew or swallow it whole
• Do not exceed the maximum number of lozenges per day stated on the pack
• Keep a lozenge on hand while travelling for convenient relief
• People with diabetes should account for the sugar content
• Seek medical advice if the sore throat lasts more than a couple of days or is severe
• Supervise use in younger children to prevent chewing or swallowing the lozenge whole

• There is no specific food interaction established for this lozenge. Avoiding food or drink for a short time after use can help the antiseptic action remain in contact with the throat for longer.
