About T-PRESSIN 1MG INJECTION

  • T-PRESSIN 1MG INJECTION contains the active substance Terlipressin. It belongs to a group of medicines called vasopressin receptor agonists. This injection is used to stop serious bleeding from enlarged veins, called varices, in the food pipe (oesophagus) which leads to your stomach. It is also used to improve kidney function in adults who have a severe kidney problem linked to liver disease, known as hepatorenal syndrome. This condition causes a sudden and severe decline in kidney function.
  • You should NOT be given T-PRESSIN 1MG INJECTION if you are allergic to Terlipressin or any other ingredients in this medicine. It should also be avoided if you have very low oxygen levels in your blood (hypoxia), worsening breathing difficulties, or poor blood flow to your heart, arms, legs, or digestive system. Before receiving this injection, tell your doctor if you have conditions like a severe infection (septic shock), asthma or other lung problems, uncontrolled high blood pressure, if you have had a heart attack (myocardial infarction), hardening of the arteries (arteriosclerosis), or irregular heartbeats (cardiac arrhythmias). Also mention if you have had a stroke (poor blood supply to the brain), have impaired kidney function (renal insufficiency), imbalances in your body's salts (electrolytes), are dehydrated or have lost a lot of blood. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, breastfeeding, or are over 70 years old. This medicine is generally not recommended for children and teenagers. If you are on a low-salt diet, inform your doctor, as this medicine contains sodium.
  • Like all medicines, T-PRESSIN 1MG INJECTION can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Very common side effects (may affect more than 1 in 10 people) include slow heart rate and stomach pain. Common side effects (may affect up to 1 in 10 people) can include headache, high or low blood pressure, reduced blood flow to arms/legs, pale skin, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and temporary shortness of breath. Less common but serious side effects can include severe reduction in blood flow to the heart or gut, and serious heart rhythm problems. If you notice any side effects, especially severe or troublesome ones, talk to your doctor or nurse immediately.

Uses of T-PRESSIN 1MG INJECTION

  • Used for managing acute bleeding episodes originating from swollen veins in the esophagus, medically known as esophageal varices.
  • Aids in improving and supporting kidney function specifically in adult individuals diagnosed with hepatorenal syndrome.

Side Effects of T-PRESSIN 1MG INJECTIONArrow

For T-PRESSIN 1MG INJECTION, side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by the medicine. Even though all medicines can cause side effects, not everyone gets them.
