• The core component of THERMOVENT T2 is its hygroscopic membrane. This membrane is constructed from a material that readily absorbs and releases water vapor. During exhalation, warm, moist air passes through the HME. As the air flows through the hygroscopic membrane, water vapor condenses and is trapped within the membrane's structure. Simultaneously, heat from the exhaled air is also retained within the HME unit.
• When the patient inhales, air is drawn through the THERMOVENT T2. As this dry air passes over the hygroscopic membrane, the stored water vapor is released, humidifying the inhaled air. The retained heat is also transferred to the inhaled air, warming it to a more comfortable and physiological temperature. This process effectively restores a significant portion of the humidity and heat that would otherwise be lost during breathing through a tracheostomy.
• By maintaining adequate humidity levels in the respiratory tract, THERMOVENT T2 helps to prevent the buildup of thick, tenacious mucus. This makes it easier for the patient to clear their airways, reducing the risk of mucus plugging and subsequent respiratory distress. Like all medicines, THERMOVENT T2 can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. **Common side effects (may affect up to 1 in 10 people):** * Headache * Tremor (shaking) * Palpitations (awareness of fast or irregular heartbeat) * Cough * Sore throat * Hoarseness * Dry mouth * Muscle cramps **Uncommon side effects (may affect up to 1 in 100 people):** * Nervousness * Dizziness * Restlessness * Sleep disturbances * Tachycardia (fast heartbeat) * Irritation of the mouth and throat * Nausea * Vomiting * Sweating * Skin rash * Itching * Increased blood sugar levels **Rare side effects (may affect up to 1 in 1,000 people):** * Paradoxical bronchospasm (wheezing or difficulty breathing that gets worse after using the inhaler). • If you miss a dose of THERMOVENT T2, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.

• Keep THERMOVENT T2 away from the reach of children and pets.
• Store THERMOVENT T2 at room temperature.
