TPT 20 INJECTION

Inject it under the skin of the thigh or abdomen once a day using the pen, at about the same time each day. Your doctor or nurse will train you. Because it can briefly lower blood pressure, give the first few doses where you can sit or lie down if you feel dizzy.

Keep it refrigerated (2–8°C, do not freeze); recap it and return it to the fridge after each dose, minimising time out of the fridge. Follow the pack insert for how many days the pen can be used (commonly 28 days) and then discard it.

Treatment is limited in duration (generally not more than 2 years in a lifetime). After stopping, your doctor will usually start another osteoporosis medicine to maintain the bone gained.

It is not for people at higher risk of a particular bone cancer (such as Paget's disease, prior skeletal radiation, or unexplained high alkaline phosphatase), children/young adults with growing bones, or those with high blood calcium. Tell your doctor your full history.

Report persistent nausea, vomiting, constipation, excessive thirst (possible high calcium), fainting, or a fast heartbeat. Do not drink alcohol, and take calcium and vitamin D as advised.
