  • VALCIVIR 500MG TABLET 3'S is converted into acyclovir in the body. Acyclovir works by inhibiting the replication of viral DNA, thereby preventing the spread and growth of the virus.
  • VALCIVIR 500MG TABLET 3'S is an oral prodrug of acyclovir, which is a synthetic nucleoside analogue. After ingestion, VALCIVIR 500MG TABLET 3'S is rapidly converted into acyclovir by the action of enzymes in the body. Acyclovir works by selectively inhibiting the replication of viral DNA through competitive inhibition of viral DNA polymerase. It is phosphorylated intracellularly by viral thymidine kinase, which allows it to be incorporated into the growing viral DNA chain. This incorporation results in chain termination and prevents further elongation of the viral DNA, thus inhibiting viral replication. VALCIVIR 500MG TABLET 3'S has a higher bioavailability compared to oral acyclovir, allowing for less frequent dosing and improved patient convenience.
