About VFEND 200MG INJECTION

  • VFEND 200MG INJECTION is a powerful antifungal medicine used to treat very serious, potentially life-threatening fungal infections. Its active ingredient, Voriconazole, works by stopping the fungus from growing. This medicine is also used to prevent these infections in people who are at high risk, like those who have recently received a bone marrow transplant. It is not suitable for children under the age of 2 years.
  • It's crucial not to use VFEND 200MG INJECTION if you are allergic to Voriconazole or any other ingredients in this medicine. Before starting treatment, *please* tell your doctor if you have ever had an allergic reaction to other similar antifungal medicines (known as azoles). Also, inform your doctor about any current or past liver problems, or if you have heart issues such as cardiomyopathy, an irregular or slow heartbeat, or a specific abnormal heart rhythm condition called 'long QTc syndrome' that shows on an ECG.
  • While on this medicine, be extra careful about sun exposure. Direct sunlight should be avoided. Protect your skin by wearing clothing that covers you and using sunscreen with a high SPF on exposed areas. Children taking this medicine also need to follow these precautions strictly. Common side effects you might experience include fever, a skin rash, feeling or being sick (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea), headache, swelling in your hands or feet, stomach pain, or difficulty breathing.
  • You must tell your doctor immediately if you notice any signs of a severe reaction or serious problem. This includes getting a severe sunburn or developing a serious skin rash with blisters. Also report bone pain, or symptoms that might suggest your body's stress hormone levels are too low (adrenal insufficiency), such as ongoing tiredness, muscle weakness, losing appetite or weight, and stomach pain. Be aware of signs of *too many* stress hormones (Cushing's syndrome), which can include weight gain (especially in the face, neck, or middle), easy bruising, thinning skin, or high blood sugar.
