• The two ingredients target after-meal blood sugar in complementary ways. Repaglinide is a meglitinide ("insulin releaser"): it stimulates the pancreas to release a quick, short burst of insulin timed to the meal, bringing down the sugar entering the blood after eating. Voglibose is an alpha-glucosidase inhibitor: it slows the breakdown of complex carbohydrates in the intestine, so sugar is absorbed more gradually and the post-meal spike is flattened. Because repaglinide acts fast and briefly, it is taken just before meals and skipped if a meal is skipped.

Common: digestive effects from voglibose — flatulence (gas), bloating, abdominal discomfort, and loose stools or diarrhoea — which often ease over time. Low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia) can occur, mainly from repaglinide, especially if a meal is missed or delayed. Others: mild skin rash, headache. Serious (seek medical attention): severe or persistent low blood sugar (sweating, shakiness, confusion, palpitations), signs of an allergic reaction, or — rarely — signs of liver problems (yellowing of skin/eyes, dark urine, persistent nausea). Report these promptly.
