• SUPERMET AM Tablet 10's is a combination medication designed to manage high blood pressure (hypertension). It contains two active ingredients: Metoprolol and Amlodipine, each working through different mechanisms to lower blood pressure effectively.
• Metoprolol belongs to a class of drugs known as beta-blockers. It primarily works by blocking the effects of adrenaline (epinephrine) on the heart and blood vessels. This action leads to a slower heart rate and reduced force of heart contractions. By decreasing the heart's workload, Metoprolol reduces the amount of blood it needs and, consequently, lowers blood pressure. It also helps to relax blood vessels, further contributing to reduced blood pressure.
