About DACSTED 200 INJECTION

  • DACSTED 200 INJECTION contains dacarbazine as an active ingredient, an antineoplastic drug belonging to the class of alkylating agents. It plays a crucial role in the prevention and treatment of metastatic malignant melanoma (skin cancer) and Hodgkin's disease, a cancer affecting the lymph system, a vital part of the immune system.
  • Often, it is used in combination with cisplatin, a cytotoxic agent, particularly in treating certain types of cancers like Hodgkin's lymphoma. Additionally, DACSTED 200 INJECTION can be combined with temozolomide for treating melanoma. Patients should be aware of a potential increased risk of non-melanoma skin cancer with the use of this medication.
  • This drug is strictly contraindicated for pregnant women. Women of childbearing age must use effective contraception during and for at least 6 months following treatment with DACSTED 200 INJECTION. It is currently unknown whether dacarbazine is excreted in human milk; therefore, breastfeeding should be avoided while undergoing treatment with this drug. Caution is advised when using this medication in patients with pre-existing liver or kidney dysfunction. Furthermore, live vaccines should be avoided during DACSTED 200 INJECTION treatment as it may weaken the immune system, increasing the risk of serious infection.
