  • LUPROHAL 22.5 INJECTION contains Leuprolide acetate. It's a type of medicine called a Gonadotropin Releasing Hormone (GnRH) agonist. This injection is used to treat several conditions that are affected by hormones. In men, it treats prostate cancer. In women, it can help with hormone-responsive breast cancer, endometriosis (where tissue similar to the womb lining grows outside the womb), and uterine fibroids (non-cancerous growths in the womb). For children, it treats central precocious puberty, which is when a child starts developing physically into an adult too early because of hormones.
  • This medicine works by lowering the levels of certain hormones in your body, like testosterone in men and estrogen in women. These hormones can sometimes make the conditions listed above worse. LUPROHAL 22.5 INJECTION is given as an injection, usually every few months. A healthcare professional will administer it for you in a clinic or hospital setting. This ensures you receive the correct dose safely.
