UNSAFEADRIPEG 50 INJECTION may harm the unborn baby and may cause foetal abnormalities. You need to tell your physician if you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant before taking this medicine.
Doxorubicin functions by inhibiting topoisomerase 2, an enzyme required by cancer cells for growth and division. Liposomal doxorubicin is doxorubicin that has been encapsulated in small particles known as pegylated liposomes that makes more doxorubicin reach the cancer cells because these spheres prolong the drug's half-life in the circulation.
This medication is used to treat breast cancer, ovarian cancer, multiple myeloma (cancer of white blood cells called plasma cells) and AIDS-related Kaposi’s sarcoma.
No, it is unsafe to use this medication while driving and handling heavy machinery as it causes lack of concentration and alertness.
The common side effects of these medications are nausea, vomiting, rash, weakness, low blood platelets, fatigue, fever, loss of appetite, anaemia, and constipation.
It is unsafe to use this medication in patients planning for pregnancy or during pregnancy and breastfeeding mothers as it causes harmful effects for the baby.
Your healthcare professional may monitor you for infusion reactions while administering the drug. Regular monitoring of blood counts and cardiac function is necessary.
There is no known interaction of ADRIPEG 50 INJECTION with other drugs.
It is not recommended to use this drug if you are allergic to the active compound pegylated liposomal doxorubicin and its components. It is also not recommended for use if you are allergic to products like pea and soy. Blood glucose levels, blood pressure, and liver and kidney function should be monitored regularly while taking this medication. Don't stop this medication without the proper advice of the doctor. It is recommended to monitor your liver, heart and lung functions during the treatment course. Avoid making plans for pregnancy or during pregnancy, as this medication can cause harmful effects on the developing baby. It is recommended to use effective contraceptive measures during the treatment and up to 8 months after the treatment has been withdrawn. Avoid driving after taking this medication because it causes dizziness and lack of concentration. The drug may cause decreased bone marrow activity. Monitoring complete blood counts regularly during therapy and watching for infections is advisable. To manage the treatment related to diarrhoea it is recommended to drink at least 3 litres of water and it is advised to wear masks and stay indoors as this medication lowers the blood cell count that may decrease the immunity.
