It is not recommended to consume alcohol while taking AMLOKIND AT TABLET 15'S, as it can increase the risk of drowsiness and dizziness.
The most common side effects of AMLOKIND AT TABLET 15'S include stomach upset, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and headache. However, more serious side effects, such as Allergies, liver damage, and kidney damage, can also occur.
AMLOKIND AT TABLET 15'S should be used with caution during pregnancy, especially during the first trimester. It is important to discuss the risks and benefits of this medication with your healthcare provider before taking it.
AMLOKIND AT TABLET 15'S can cause drowsiness and dizziness, which can impair your ability to operate machinery or drive. It is recommended to avoid driving or operating machinery while taking this medication until you know how it affects you.
Amlokind AT 15 tablet is generally prescribed to treat high blood pressure and to help prevent heart‑related complications such as heart attack and stroke. It may also be used in certain patients to manage chest pain (angina) and reduce the workload on the heart. The exact indication for you should be confirmed by your doctor based on your medical condition.
Amlokind AT 15 tablet usually contains amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker, and atenolol, a beta‑blocker. Amlodipine relaxes and widens blood vessels, lowering resistance and improving blood flow. Atenolol slows the heart rate and reduces the force of heart contractions. Together, they lower blood pressure and decrease the heart’s oxygen demand, which can help relieve angina and protect against cardiovascular events.
Amlokind AT 15 tablet should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor. It is usually taken once daily at the same time each day, with or without food, and swallowed whole with water. Do not crush or chew the tablet unless your doctor or pharmacist specifically advises otherwise. Never change the dose, frequency, or duration of use on your own; always follow your doctor’s instructions and the information on the prescription label.
Alcohol can enhance the blood pressure‑lowering effect of Amlokind AT 15 tablet and may increase the risk of dizziness, light‑headedness, or fainting, especially when standing up quickly. It is generally advisable to limit or avoid alcohol while on this medicine. If you drink alcohol, discuss it with your doctor so they can advise you based on your blood pressure control, other medicines, and overall health.
The safety of Amlokind AT 15 tablet in pregnancy depends on the specific clinical situation. Beta‑blockers like atenolol may affect fetal growth or cause effects on the baby, especially if used in late pregnancy, and amlodipine also has limited data in pregnant women. This medicine should only be used during pregnancy if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk, and only under close medical supervision. If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or think you might be pregnant, you must inform your doctor before starting or continuing this medicine.
Atenolol can pass into breast milk and may affect a nursing infant, potentially causing slow heart rate or low blood pressure in the baby. Amlodipine may also be excreted in small amounts in breast milk. Because of these concerns, Amlokind AT 15 tablet should be used with caution during breastfeeding. Your doctor will weigh the benefits for you against the possible risks to your baby and may consider an alternative medicine or advise close monitoring of the infant if treatment is necessary.
Amlokind AT 15 tablet should be used cautiously in patients with liver or kidney impairment. Amlodipine is processed mainly by the liver, and atenolol is largely eliminated by the kidneys. In people with reduced liver or kidney function, the medicine may stay longer in the body, increasing the risk of side effects such as low blood pressure or slow heart rate. Your doctor may decide to start with a lower strength, adjust the regimen, or monitor you more closely. Always inform your doctor if you have any history of liver disease, hepatitis, cirrhosis, kidney disease, or if you are on dialysis.
Amlokind AT 15 tablet can cause side effects such as dizziness, tiredness, or visual disturbances in some people, especially when starting treatment or after a dose change. These effects can impair your ability to concentrate or react quickly. You should avoid driving, operating heavy machinery, or performing tasks that require full alertness until you know how the medicine affects you. If you feel dizzy, light‑headed, or unusually tired, do not drive and speak to your doctor.
If you miss a dose of Amlokind AT 15 tablet, take it as soon as you remember on the same day. If it is almost time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and take the next one at the regular time. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten tablet, as this may cause excessive lowering of blood pressure or a very slow heart rate. If you frequently forget doses, talk to your doctor or pharmacist about ways to help you remember your medicine.
Although uncommon, some people may develop an allergic reaction to Amlokind AT 15 tablet or any of its components. Signs of a serious allergy include rash, itching, hives, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, severe dizziness, or difficulty breathing. This can be a medical emergency. If you notice any of these symptoms after taking the tablet, stop using it and seek immediate medical help. Inform your doctor about any known allergies to amlodipine, atenolol, other blood pressure medicines, or tablet ingredients such as dyes or preservatives before starting treatment.
You should not stop taking Amlokind AT 15 tablet on your own, even if your blood pressure readings become normal or you feel well. High blood pressure often has no symptoms, and stopping treatment suddenly, especially with a beta‑blocker like atenolol, can cause rebound increases in blood pressure, worsening chest pain, or other heart‑related problems. Any change in dose or discontinuation must be done gradually and only under the supervision of your doctor.
