It is not recommended to consume alcohol while taking AMODEP AT TABLET 15'S, as it can increase the risk of drowsiness and dizziness.
The most common side effects of AMODEP AT TABLET 15'S include stomach upset, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and headache. However, more serious side effects, such as Allergies, liver damage, and kidney damage, can also occur.
AMODEP AT TABLET 15'S should be used with caution during pregnancy, especially during the first trimester. It is important to discuss the risks and benefits of this medication with your healthcare provider before taking it.
AMODEP AT TABLET 15'S can cause drowsiness and dizziness, which can impair your ability to operate machinery or drive. It is recommended to avoid driving or operating machinery while taking this medication until you know how it affects you.
Amodep AT is generally used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and to help prevent or reduce episodes of angina (chest pain). By combining a calcium channel blocker and a beta‑blocker, it helps relax blood vessels, slow the heart rate, and reduce the workload on the heart, thereby lowering blood pressure and improving blood flow to the heart muscle.
Amodep AT usually contains a calcium channel blocker, which relaxes and widens blood vessels, and a beta‑blocker, which slows the heart rate and reduces the force of heart contractions. Together, these actions lower blood pressure, decrease the heart’s oxygen demand, and improve blood flow, which can help control hypertension and reduce chest pain episodes.
Take Amodep AT exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet with water, with or without food, at the same time each day. Do not change the dose, split the tablet, or stop the medicine on your own. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for the next dose; in that case, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.
Alcohol can enhance the blood pressure‑lowering effect of Amodep AT and may increase the risk of dizziness, light‑headedness, or fainting, especially when standing up quickly. It is advisable to limit or avoid alcohol while on this medicine. If you choose to drink, do so only in moderation and monitor how you feel. Discuss alcohol use with your doctor, particularly if you have liver problems or a history of low blood pressure.
The safety of Amodep AT in pregnancy is not fully established. Some beta‑blockers and calcium channel blockers may be used in pregnancy under specialist supervision when the potential benefit outweighs the risk, but they are not considered completely risk‑free. If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or think you might be pregnant, you must consult your doctor before using Amodep AT. Do not start or continue this medicine in pregnancy without medical advice.
Components similar to those in Amodep AT can pass into breast milk in small amounts. The potential effects on a breastfed infant may include changes in heart rate, blood pressure, or feeding patterns, although not all mothers or babies will experience problems. If you are breastfeeding, discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. Your doctor may decide to use an alternative medicine, adjust the dose, or advise careful monitoring of the baby for unusual sleepiness, poor feeding, or breathing difficulties.
Patients with liver or kidney impairment may process or eliminate the components of Amodep AT more slowly, which can increase the risk of side effects. Dose adjustments or closer monitoring may be required in such individuals. If you have a history of liver disease, hepatitis, cirrhosis, kidney disease, or reduced kidney function, inform your doctor before starting Amodep AT. Your doctor may order periodic blood tests and monitor blood pressure and heart rate more closely.
Amodep AT can cause side effects such as dizziness, tiredness, or blurred vision in some people, especially when treatment is started or the dose is changed. These effects may impair your ability to drive or operate machinery safely. Do not drive, use tools, or operate heavy machines until you know how the medicine affects you. If you feel dizzy, light‑headed, unusually tired, or have visual disturbances, avoid such activities and speak with your doctor.
If you have a history of severe allergies, asthma, or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), inform your doctor before taking Amodep AT. Beta‑blockers can sometimes worsen breathing problems in susceptible individuals and may reduce the effectiveness of medicines used to treat severe allergic reactions. Seek immediate medical help if you develop wheezing, difficulty breathing, swelling of the face or throat, or a severe skin rash after starting the medicine.
Common side effects may include dizziness, headache, tiredness, slow heart rate, swelling of ankles or feet, flushing, nausea, stomach discomfort, and cold hands or feet. Many of these are mild and may improve as your body adjusts to the medicine. However, if you experience very slow heartbeat, severe dizziness, fainting, shortness of breath, chest pain that worsens, or swelling of the face or tongue, seek medical attention immediately.
You should not stop taking Amodep AT suddenly without consulting your doctor, even if you feel well and your blood pressure is controlled. High blood pressure often has no symptoms, and stopping treatment abruptly can cause your blood pressure to rise again or may worsen chest pain or other heart‑related problems. Your doctor will advise you if and how the medicine can be reduced or stopped, usually by gradually tapering the dose if appropriate.
