Take it as directed by your doctor, using the measuring cup provided (not a household spoon). Levodropropizine is usually taken up to three times a day, preferably on an empty stomach. Children's doses are lower and based on age/weight — follow your doctor's instructions.

It is meant for a dry, non-productive cough. It should not be used for a chesty cough that brings up phlegm, as suppressing that type of cough can trap mucus. If you're unsure which type you have, ask your doctor.

It can, mainly because of the chlorpheniramine. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how it affects you, and do not drink alcohol while taking it, as alcohol increases drowsiness.

Only as advised by a doctor and strictly by age/weight. It is not recommended for children under 2 years. Never use it to make a child sleepy, and confirm the correct dose with your doctor.

Use it only for short-term relief. If the cough lasts more than about a week, keeps returning, or comes with high fever, breathlessness, or blood in the phlegm, stop and see your doctor. Tell your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems, glaucoma, an enlarged prostate, breathing problems, or are pregnant or breastfeeding.
