How RESWAS SF SYRUP 120 ML Works

• Levodropropizine acts mainly on the peripheral sensory nerves in the airways that trigger the cough reflex, reducing how easily a cough is set off, without the central nervous system action of some older cough suppressants.
• Chlorpheniramine maleate blocks histamine H1 receptors. Histamine is released during an allergic reaction and produces sneezing, a runny nose and throat irritation, so blocking its action settles these symptoms. This same blocking action commonly causes drowsiness.

Drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth are commonly reported, along with nausea, abdominal discomfort or diarrhoea in some patients. Chlorpheniramine can also cause blurred vision and difficulty concentrating, which can affect the ability to drive or operate machinery. A widespread skin rash, marked breathing difficulty, or a noticeable change in heart rate are uncommon but need immediate medical attention.

• If you miss a dose of Reswas SF Syrup, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed one.

• Store the bottle in its original pack, tightly closed, out of the reach of children and pets. Keep it at room temperature. Do not use the syrup after the expiry date printed on the label.

• Shake the bottle well before each use
• Use the calibrated measuring cup or spoon provided, not a household spoon
• This syrup is intended for dry cough, not a cough that is bringing up mucus
• Avoid driving or operating machinery until the effect of the medicine is known
• Avoid alcohol while taking this syrup
• Seek medical advice if cough persists for more than a few days or is accompanied by fever, chest pain or breathing difficulty

• Reswas SF can be taken with or without food, though taking it with food can help if it causes stomach upset.
• Alcohol adds to the drowsiness caused by chlorpheniramine and is best avoided while taking this syrup.
