Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them.

Heart and Electrolytes
Use with caution in cardiac riskAzithromycin has been associated with prolongation of the QT interval and rare cases of serious ventricular arrhythmias, particularly in patients with existing cardiac risk factors.
AZEE 500MG TABLET 3'S is safe if used at prescribed doses for the prescribed duration as advised by your doctor.
You should inform your doctor if you do not notice any improvement in your symptoms after 3 days of taking AZEE 500MG TABLET 3'S. Also, if your symptoms get worse, inform your doctor immediately.
Yes, the use of AZEE 500MG TABLET 3'S can cause diarrhea. It is an antibiotic which kills the harmful bacteria. However, it also affects the helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine and causes diarrhea. If you are experiencing severe diarrhea, talk to your doctor about it.
AZEE 500MG TABLET 3'S is usually prescribed once daily. You can take it at any time of the day, but remember to take it at the same time each day. The medicine should be taken 1 hour before meals or 2 hours after eating food. You can take the tablet preparation with or without food. However, you must take AZEE 500MG TABLET 3'S exactly as advised by your doctor and ask your doctor if you have any doubts.
AZEE 500MG TABLET 3'S starts working within a few hours of taking it. You may notice an improvement in symptoms after a few days. Do not stop taking the medicine without completing the course mentioned by your doctor. Stopping the medicine without consulting your doctor may cause the infection to come back which may be more difficult to treat.
The duration of treatment depends on the type of infection being treated and the age of the patient. AZEE 500MG TABLET 3'S is not necessarily given for 3 days. In most bacterial infections, a single dose of 500 mg is given for 3 days. Alternatively, it can be given as 500 mg once on day 1 and then 250 mg once from day 2 to day 5. In some cases of infection such as genital ulcer disease, it is given as a single 1 gram dose. Therefore, you must stick to the regime advised by your doctor.
Generally, it is recommended that patients taking AZEE 500MG TABLET 3'S should avoid taking any antacid with this medicine as this can affect the overall effectiveness of AZEE 500MG TABLET 3'S. It is also recommended to avoid exposure to sunlight or tanning beds as AZEE 500MG TABLET 3'S increases the risk of sunburn.
AZEE 500MG TABLET 3'S is an effective antibiotic that is used for the treatment of many bacterial infections. Compared to other antibiotics, AZEE 500MG TABLET 3'S has a longer half-life which means that it stays in the body for a long time because of which it is given once a day and for a short span of time. Other antibiotics comparatively have a shorter half-life and are usually given twice, thrice, or four times a day.
Some people may get a fungal or yeast infection known as thrush after taking AZEE 500MG TABLET 3'S. Antibiotics such as AZEE 500MG TABLET 3'S can kill the normal or ‘good bacteria’ of your intestine responsible for preventing thrush. You should inform your doctor if you get a sore or vaginal itching or discharge. Also, inform your doctor if you get a white patch in the mouth or tongue after taking AZEE 500MG TABLET 3'S or soon after stopping it.
Azee 500 contains azithromycin 500 mg, a macrolide antibiotic used to treat various bacterial infections. It is commonly prescribed for respiratory tract infections (such as community-acquired pneumonia, some cases of bacterial bronchitis, and sinusitis), certain throat infections, some ear infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and specific sexually transmitted infections like uncomplicated chlamydial infections. The decision to use Azee 500 depends on the suspected or confirmed bacteria and local antibiotic resistance patterns, and it should only be taken on a doctor’s prescription.
Azee 500 should not be used routinely for fever, common cold, or flu, as these conditions are usually caused by viruses, against which azithromycin is ineffective. Antibiotics do not shorten the duration of viral infections and unnecessary use can lead to side effects and antibiotic resistance. A doctor may consider Azee 500 only if there is evidence of a secondary bacterial infection or another specific bacterial illness. Patients should not self-medicate with Azee 500 for general fever or viral symptoms.
Azee 500 should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor. It is usually taken by mouth once daily, with a full glass of water. It can be taken with or without food, but taking it with food may help reduce stomach upset. Do not crush or break the tablet unless your doctor or pharmacist advises that it is acceptable. Do not change the dose, frequency, or duration on your own, and do not share your medicine with others. Always complete the full course, even if you start feeling better earlier, unless your doctor tells you to stop.
Common side effects of Azee 500 include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, loose stools, abdominal pain, indigestion, and headache. Some people may also experience mild skin rash or dizziness. These effects are usually mild and resolve after the course is completed. However, if diarrhea is severe, persistent, or contains blood or mucus, or if you develop a widespread rash, difficulty breathing, swelling of the face or throat, or severe abdominal pain, you should seek medical attention immediately, as these may indicate more serious reactions.
Azithromycin, the active ingredient in Azee 500, is generally considered an option during pregnancy when clearly needed, but it should only be used under medical supervision. The doctor will weigh the potential benefits against any possible risks to the mother and fetus, and may consider alternative antibiotics depending on the type of infection. Pregnant women should not start or continue Azee 500 without consulting their obstetrician or treating physician, and should inform the doctor about all other medicines and supplements they are taking.
Azithromycin passes into breast milk in small amounts. In many cases, it may be used during breastfeeding when the expected benefit to the mother outweighs potential risks to the infant. However, the decision must be made by a healthcare professional. If Azee 500 is used while breastfeeding, the infant should be monitored for possible side effects such as diarrhea, vomiting, or rash. Mothers should discuss the need for treatment, possible alternatives, and monitoring with their doctor before using Azee 500 while nursing.
There is no strong evidence of a direct dangerous interaction between azithromycin and moderate alcohol intake in healthy individuals. However, alcohol can worsen some side effects such as stomach upset, dizziness, and fatigue, and may impair the body’s ability to fight infection. Heavy alcohol use can also affect liver function, which is important for processing azithromycin. It is generally advisable to avoid or minimize alcohol consumption while taking Azee 500, especially if you have liver disease or feel unwell.
Azee 500 should not be taken by individuals with a known allergy to azithromycin, other macrolide or ketolide antibiotics (such as erythromycin or clarithromycin), or any component of the tablet. Caution or avoidance may be required in people with a history of severe liver disease, significant kidney impairment, known prolonged QT interval or certain heart rhythm disorders, low blood levels of potassium or magnesium, or those taking medicines that can affect heart rhythm. A doctor should review your full medical history and medication list before prescribing Azee 500.
Azee 500 may be prescribed for certain bacterial throat infections or tonsillitis, particularly when caused by organisms susceptible to azithromycin or when other first-line antibiotics are not suitable due to allergy or intolerance. However, not all sore throats require antibiotics, as many are viral. A throat examination, and sometimes a test for specific bacteria, helps guide treatment. You should not use Azee 500 on your own for a sore throat; a healthcare professional should determine whether an antibiotic is needed and which one is appropriate.
If you miss a dose of Azee 500, take it as soon as you remember, unless it is almost time for your next scheduled dose. If it is close to the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take two doses at the same time to make up for a missed dose, as this may increase the risk of side effects without improving effectiveness. If you miss more than one dose or are unsure how to proceed, contact your doctor or pharmacist for advice.
Azithromycin has been associated, in rare cases, with changes in heart rhythm, including prolongation of the QT interval, which can lead to serious arrhythmias in susceptible individuals. The risk is higher in people with existing heart rhythm disorders, low potassium or magnesium levels, significant bradycardia, or those taking other medicines that also prolong the QT interval. Most healthy individuals tolerate Azee 500 well, but you should inform your doctor if you have any heart disease, are on heart or psychiatric medications, or have a history of fainting or palpitations before starting this medicine.
