About CABOZANIB 60 TABLET 30'S

CABOZANIB 60 TABLET 30'S is a type of targeted medicine used to treat certain cancers. Its main active ingredient is Cabozantinib. It belongs to a group of medicines called tyrosine kinase inhibitors. In adults, it is prescribed for advanced kidney cancer and certain types of advanced or spreading thyroid cancer (specifically differentiated thyroid cancer that has come back or spread). It is also used for liver cancer when another medicine (Sorafenib) has stopped working effectively.
How does it work? Cancer cells need specific signals to grow and spread. Tyrosine kinase inhibitors like Cabozantinib work by blocking these signals, which helps to slow down or stop the growth of cancer cells. This makes CABOZANIB 60 TABLET 30'S a targeted therapy, focusing on the cancer cells themselves.
For treating advanced kidney cancer, CABOZANIB 60 TABLET 30'S is often given together with another medicine called Nivolumab. This combination therapy can be more effective than using either medicine alone for some patients. CABOZANIB 60 TABLET 30'S is not suitable for children or adolescents under 18 years of age.
Before you start taking CABOZANIB 60 TABLET 30'S, it is very important to tell your doctor about all your medical conditions and history. Do not take this medicine if you have had an allergic reaction to Cabozantinib or any of the other ingredients in the tablet. Be sure to mention if you have any liver problems, inflammatory bowel disease (like Crohn's or ulcerative colitis), high blood pressure, heart problems, or persistent diarrhea.
Also, inform your doctor if you have a history of blood clots in the legs or elsewhere, significant bleeding issues, or if you have ever had an aneurysm (a bulge in a blood vessel wall) or a tear in a blood vessel. If you have recently had any type of surgery, including dental surgery, within the last month, your doctor needs to know, as this medicine can affect wound healing. It is also important to mention any history of thyroid problems, as your thyroid function may need to be checked before and during treatment.
If you are a woman who could become pregnant, tell your doctor. You must use effective birth control during treatment with CABOZANIB 60 TABLET 30'S and for at least four months after your last dose. Discuss any concerns about fertility with your doctor, as this treatment may affect it.
CABOZANIB 60 TABLET 30'S should be taken exactly as your doctor prescribes. It is usually taken once a day. It is very important to take this medicine *without food*. This means you should take it at least 1 hour before a meal or 2 hours after a meal. Do not eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice while taking this medicine, as it can increase the amount of medicine in your body and potentially cause more side effects.
Like all medicines, CABOZANIB 60 TABLET 30'S can cause side effects, although not everyone experiences them. Common side effects may include tiredness, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, decreased appetite, high blood pressure, changes in taste, mouth sores, rash, and redness or blistering on the palms of your hands or soles of your feet (hand-foot syndrome). Report any side effects you experience to your doctor or nurse, especially if they are severe or do not go away.
CABOZANIB 60 TABLET 30'S contains lactose. If you have an intolerance to certain sugars, such as lactose, please inform your doctor before taking this medicine.
