Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them.

Allergies
CONTRAINDICATED IF ALLERGICDo not use Caldikind sachet if you are allergic to vitamin D (cholecalciferol) or any of the ingredients in the formulation.
You can take CALDIKIND SACHET 1 GM at any time, morning or night. However, limited information is available about the best time to take it. Take it strictly as advised by your doctor.
CALDIKIND SACHET 1 GM is vital for maintaining bone health and supporting the health of the immune system, brain, and nervous systems. It regulates insulin levels and is important for a healthy heart and blood vessels.
CALDIKIND SACHET 1 GM should be swallowed whole with water and not crushed or chewed. It is advised to be taken with the main meal of the day to increase its absorption.
CALDIKIND SACHET 1 GM should not be taken by patients allergic to cholecalciferol, patients with increased calcium levels in the blood, or patients with calcium in the urine. Patients with kidney stones or severe kidney problems should also avoid its use.
Taking too much CALDIKIND SACHET 1 GM for an extended period may increase calcium levels in the blood (hypercalcemia). This may cause weakness, fatigue, vomiting, diarrhea, sluggishness, kidney stones, increased blood pressure, and growth retardation in children.
The daily requirement of vitamin D is 4000 IU/day. Since your diet may not meet this requirement, you may need 1000 - 3000 IU/day of vitamin D supplements. CALDIKIND SACHET 1 GM is a form of vitamin D used as a supplement in patients with vitamin D deficiency.
Low vitamin D levels may cause rickets in children and osteomalacia in adults. Vitamin D deficiency may also increase the risk of diabetes mellitus 1, high blood pressure, depression, some cancers, and osteoporosis.
Caldikind sachet is generally used as a vitamin D3–based supplement to help prevent or manage vitamin D deficiency and to support bone health. By improving vitamin D status, it helps the body absorb calcium and phosphorus more effectively, which is important for maintaining strong bones and teeth and for normal muscle and immune function. It is usually recommended in people at risk of low vitamin D levels, such as those with limited sun exposure, elderly individuals, or people with certain medical conditions that affect nutrient absorption.
Always follow your doctor’s instructions and the directions on the product label for how to take Caldikind sachet. The sachet contents are typically mixed with a suitable liquid, such as water or milk, and taken orally. Do not self-prescribe the dose or frequency, and do not exceed the recommended intake. If you are unsure about how often to take it or how long to continue, consult your healthcare professional for personalized guidance.
People with liver problems should consult their doctor before using Caldikind sachet. Vitamin D is metabolized in the liver, and severe liver disease may affect how the body processes it. Your doctor may decide whether supplementation is appropriate for you, adjust the dose if needed, or monitor your vitamin D and calcium levels more closely. Do not start or continue long-term use without medical advice if you have significant liver impairment.
If you have kidney disease, especially chronic kidney disease, kidney stones, or a history of high calcium levels, you should use Caldikind sachet only under medical supervision. Impaired kidney function can alter how your body handles vitamin D and calcium, increasing the risk of hypercalcemia or further kidney complications. Your doctor may recommend specific tests, adjust the dose, or choose an alternative form of vitamin D tailored to kidney function. Never self-medicate with high-dose vitamin D if you have kidney problems.
Vitamin D is important during pregnancy for both the mother and the developing baby, but supplementation should be carefully managed. Caldikind sachet may be used in pregnancy if your doctor recommends it, based on your vitamin D status, diet, and overall health. Do not start or change the dose on your own, as excessive vitamin D intake can be harmful. Always inform your obstetrician or healthcare provider about all supplements you are taking so they can ensure the total vitamin D intake remains within safe limits.
Caldikind sachet may be used during breastfeeding if advised by your doctor. Vitamin D passes into breast milk, and appropriate supplementation can help maintain adequate vitamin D levels in the mother and may contribute to the infant’s vitamin D status. However, high doses taken by the mother can potentially lead to excessive vitamin D exposure for the baby. Therefore, breastfeeding women should only use Caldikind sachet at doses recommended by their healthcare professional and should not exceed the prescribed regimen.
Caldikind sachet, when taken at recommended doses, is not known to impair the ability to drive or operate machinery. It does not typically cause drowsiness or affect alertness. However, if you experience any unusual symptoms such as severe weakness, confusion, or dizziness, which could theoretically occur in the context of very high calcium levels, you should avoid driving or using heavy machinery and seek medical advice promptly.
Moderate alcohol consumption is not known to have a direct interaction with Caldikind sachet. However, excessive alcohol intake can negatively affect bone health, liver function, and overall nutritional status, potentially worsening vitamin D deficiency or interfering with its metabolism. If you drink alcohol, do so in moderation and inform your doctor about your intake, especially if you are on long-term vitamin D supplementation or have liver or bone-related conditions.
If you have a known allergy to vitamin D (cholecalciferol) or to any excipients present in Caldikind sachet, you should not use this product. Signs of an allergic reaction may include rash, itching, swelling of the face, lips, or throat, severe dizziness, or difficulty breathing. If you develop any of these symptoms after taking a dose, stop using the product immediately and seek urgent medical attention. Always read the ingredient list on the pack and inform your doctor about any past allergies before starting the supplement.
Caldikind sachet is generally well tolerated when used at recommended doses. Mild side effects, if they occur, may include gastrointestinal discomfort such as nausea, constipation, or abdominal pain. Serious side effects are usually associated with excessive or prolonged intake leading to high calcium levels, which can cause symptoms like vomiting, increased thirst, frequent urination, muscle weakness, confusion, or kidney-related issues. If you notice persistent or severe symptoms, stop taking the sachet and consult your doctor for evaluation and guidance.
Caldikind sachet may be recommended for children with vitamin D deficiency or at risk of deficiency, but only under pediatric or medical supervision. Children have different vitamin D requirements based on age, diet, and health status, and inappropriate dosing can lead to under-treatment or toxicity. Never give Caldikind sachet to a child without consulting a pediatrician, and always follow the exact instructions provided by the healthcare professional regarding dose, frequency, and duration.
If you miss a scheduled dose of Caldikind sachet, take it as soon as you remember, unless it is almost time for your next planned dose. In that case, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed one, as this may increase the risk of excessive vitamin D or calcium levels. If you frequently forget doses, discuss with your doctor or pharmacist about strategies to improve adherence.
