• At these strengths urea and lactic acid also act as mild keratolytics: they loosen the bonds between hardened, dead surface cells, helping thick, rough or scaly skin gradually shed and smooth out.
• Glycine and the electrolyte salts (calcium, sodium, potassium, magnesium and ammonium salts) support the skin's natural moisturising factors and help maintain the skin barrier.
