How CREMAFFIN PLUS SYRUP 225 ML Works

• Milk of magnesia draws water into the intestine by osmosis. This increased water content softens the stool and also stimulates the intestinal muscles to contract, helping move the stool along.
• Liquid paraffin coats the stool and the lining of the intestine, letting the stool slide through more easily and reducing straining. It is not absorbed by the body and acts only within the digestive tract.
• Sodium picosulphate is converted by bacteria in the colon into an active form that stimulates the nerves in the colon wall, increasing the rhythmic contractions that push stool forward and produce a bowel movement.

Abdominal cramps, bloating, gas and diarrhoea are commonly reported, particularly if more than the recommended amount is taken. Nausea can also occur. Excessive or prolonged diarrhoea can lead to dehydration and loss of body salts. A widespread rash, facial swelling or breathing difficulty are signs of an allergic reaction and need immediate medical attention.

• If you miss a dose of Cremaffin Plus Syrup, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed one.

• Store the bottle in its original pack, out of the reach of children and pets. Keep it at room temperature. Do not use the syrup after the expiry date printed on the label.

• Shake the bottle well before each use and use the calibrated cup or spoon provided
• Take it at bedtime, since it typically produces a bowel movement the following morning
• Drink a full glass of water after taking the syrup and stay well hydrated
• Use for short-term relief of occasional constipation rather than as a long-term routine
• Seek medical advice if constipation persists despite using this syrup as directed
• Tell the doctor about kidney disease, diabetes or any bowel condition before starting
