In most instances, side effects are temporary and subside as your body adapts to the medication. If these effects continue or cause concern, please seek medical advice.DAPAGAIN 10MG TABLET 15'S may cause nausea, vomiting, and dyslipidemia.

General precautions and dehydration
Use with caution in volume depletionBecause Dapagain 10 increases urinary glucose and fluid loss, it can contribute to volume depletion, particularly in elderly patients, those on diuretics, or individuals with low blood pressure.
Yes, DAPAGAIN 10MG TABLET 15'S may cause weight loss in some patients. However, it is an uncommon side effect. If you experience sudden weight gain or have any concerns regarding your weight, discuss it with your doctor.
The use of DAPAGAIN 10MG TABLET 15'S may cause symptoms such as stuffy or runny nose, sore throat, vaginal yeast infections, and yeast infections of the penis. In addition to that, one may experience frequent urination throughout the day or at night, and changes in quantity of urine.
DAPAGAIN 10MG TABLET 15'S is used to lower blood glucose levels in type 2 diabetes. In type 2 diabetes, the body is not able to use the produced insulin properly. This leads to an increase in the levels of sugar in your blood. DAPAGAIN 10MG TABLET 15'S works by removing excess sugar from your body via your urine. In addition to that, it can also help prevent heart disease.
Yes, DAPAGAIN 10MG TABLET 15'S is safe when used as directed by the doctor. However, it may show some side effects. For best results, it should be used in the correct dose and at the same time each day.
No, do not stop taking DAPAGAIN 10MG TABLET 15'S without talking to your doctor first. Sudden discontinuation of medicine may make your diabetes worse. Inform your doctor if your symptoms bother you or if there is no considerable improvement in your condition. The doctor may suggest some other medicine which could be more effective in treating your diabetes.
Patients allergic to DAPAGAIN 10MG TABLET 15'S should avoid using this medicine. Also, it is highly recommended that patients who are on dialysis or have severe kidney problems should not use DAPAGAIN 10MG TABLET 15'S.
Inform your doctor that you are taking DAPAGAIN 10MG TABLET 15'S before going for the surgery. The doctor may ask you to stop taking your DAPAGAIN 10MG TABLET 15'S tablets before your operation. This is done because there is a risk of developing diabetic ketoacidosis (a serious condition that may develop if high blood sugar is not treated).
For some people, taking metformin alone can effectively lower blood sugar levels. But, evidence suggests that adding DAPAGAIN 10MG TABLET 15'S to metformin therapy may provide better control over the increased blood sugar levels in some people. So, maybe your doctor prescribed the combined use of metformin with DAPAGAIN 10MG TABLET 15'S to provide the extra help you need.
Dapagain 10 is an oral antidiabetic medicine that contains dapagliflozin 10 mg as its active ingredient. Dapagliflozin is a sodium–glucose co‑transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor used primarily in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus to help improve blood glucose control, usually in combination with diet and exercise and sometimes with other antidiabetic medicines.
Dapagain 10 works by selectively inhibiting the SGLT2 protein in the proximal tubules of the kidneys. SGLT2 is responsible for reabsorbing most of the filtered glucose back into the bloodstream. By blocking this transporter, dapagliflozin reduces glucose reabsorption and increases urinary glucose excretion, which lowers blood glucose levels. This mechanism is independent of insulin, so it can be effective even when insulin secretion or action is impaired.
Dapagain 10 is commonly prescribed for adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus to improve glycaemic control when lifestyle measures alone are insufficient. Depending on local regulatory approvals and clinical guidelines, dapagliflozin‑containing products may also be used in certain patients with chronic kidney disease or heart failure to reduce the risk of disease progression or hospitalization, but such use should follow specialist advice and the approved product information in the relevant country.
Dapagain 10 is not indicated for type 1 diabetes mellitus and must not be used to treat diabetic ketoacidosis. In type 1 diabetes, SGLT2 inhibitors can increase the risk of diabetic ketoacidosis, including euglycaemic ketoacidosis, and their use is generally not recommended outside of carefully controlled specialist settings. Patients with symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, rapid breathing, or confusion should seek urgent medical care.
Common side effects of Dapagain 10 include increased urination, genital fungal infections (such as vaginal yeast infections or balanitis), urinary tract infections, thirst, and mild dehydration‑related symptoms like dizziness or light‑headedness, especially when standing up quickly. Some patients may experience changes in blood lipids or a small reduction in blood pressure. Most side effects are mild to moderate, but any persistent or severe symptoms should be reported to a healthcare professional.
When used alone, Dapagain 10 has a relatively low risk of causing hypoglycaemia because its action is independent of insulin and does not directly increase insulin levels. However, the risk of hypoglycaemia can increase when it is used together with insulin or insulin‑secretagogue medicines such as sulfonylureas. In such combinations, the doses of the other agents may need adjustment, and patients should be educated about recognising and managing symptoms of low blood sugar.
Use of Dapagain 10 in patients with kidney impairment depends on the degree of renal dysfunction. In moderate to severe renal impairment or end‑stage kidney disease, the glucose‑lowering effect is reduced and the risk of adverse events may increase. Many product labels advise against initiating dapagliflozin below certain estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) thresholds, and discontinuation may be recommended if kidney function declines further. Kidney function should be assessed before starting therapy and monitored regularly, and decisions should follow the specific prescribing information and the treating physician’s judgment.
Data on the use of dapagliflozin during pregnancy and breastfeeding are limited. Animal studies have raised concerns about potential effects on the developing kidneys when exposure occurs during later stages of pregnancy. Therefore, Dapagain 10 is generally not recommended during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, unless the potential benefit clearly outweighs the risk. During breastfeeding, it is not known whether dapagliflozin is excreted in human milk, and potential effects on the infant’s kidney development are a concern. Alternative treatments with better‑established safety profiles are usually preferred, and any use in these situations must be guided by a specialist.
While using Dapagain 10, patients should maintain adequate hydration, practice good genital hygiene, and monitor for signs of urinary or genital infections such as burning during urination, pain, itching, or unusual discharge. They should be cautious when standing up quickly, particularly if they are elderly, on diuretics, or have low blood pressure. Patients should inform their doctor about any history of recurrent urinary tract infections, genital infections, kidney disease, liver disease, or episodes of ketoacidosis. Before major surgery or during acute serious illness, temporary interruption of dapagliflozin may be considered to reduce the risk of ketoacidosis, following medical advice.
Moderate alcohol intake may be permissible for some patients on Dapagain 10, but alcohol can affect blood glucose control and may increase the risk of dehydration and, in certain situations, ketoacidosis. Excessive alcohol consumption, binge drinking, or drinking while fasting or acutely ill should be avoided. Patients with a history of pancreatitis, liver disease, or problematic alcohol use should discuss alcohol intake with their healthcare professional before starting or while taking Dapagain 10.
Dapagain 10 is not primarily a weight‑loss or antihypertensive medicine, but due to its mechanism of increasing urinary glucose and sodium excretion, many patients experience modest weight reduction and a small decrease in blood pressure. These effects can be beneficial in people with type 2 diabetes who are overweight or have hypertension, but they should not replace dedicated weight‑management or blood pressure therapies when those are clinically indicated.
