Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all drugs cause side effects, not everyone gets them. DAPEFY 10MG TABLET 14'S can cause side effects, but not everyone experiences them.

Allergies
Contraindicated in known allergyDo not take Dapefy 10 if you have a known allergy to dapagliflozin or any of the excipients in the formulation.
Yes, DAPEFY 10MG TABLET 14'S can cause weight loss in some individuals. One of the effects of DAPEFY 10MG TABLET 14'S is the excretion of excess glucose in the urine. It leads to a loss of calories and can contribute to weight reduction.
DAPEFY 10MG TABLET 14'S reduces glucose reabsorption and lowers the renal threshold for glucose. It works by removing excess glucose from your body via your urine and lowering the sugar in your blood.
DAPEFY 10MG TABLET 14'S is not approved for use in type 1 diabetes. It is specifically indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus.
Your doctor will decide the medicine's dose, strength, and frequency based on your blood sugar levels and other factors. Take DAPEFY 10MG TABLET 14'S as prescribed by your doctor.
DAPEFY 10MG TABLET 14'S works by inhibiting glucose reabsorption in the kidneys, increasing glucose excretion in the urine, and lowering blood sugar levels. It helps to improve glycemic control in people with type 2 diabetes.
DAPEFY 10MG TABLET 14'S should be used with caution in individuals with kidney problems. The dose adjustments can be made based on kidney function. It is important to inform your physician about any existing kidney issues or changes in kidney function before taking this drug.
No known interactions of DAPEFY 10MG TABLET 14'S with other drugs.
DAPEFY 10MG TABLET 14'S can increase urination, possibly leading to dehydration if not compensated for by adequate fluid intake. Drink plenty of water often to stay well hydrated. This drug causes genital yeast infections in both males and females. Practice good hygiene, including regular washing and cleaning of the genital area, to reduce the risk of infections. Limit the intake of sugary foods, processed snacks, and high-fat meals.
Dapagliflozin is the molecule/combination used for making DAPEFY 10MG TABLET 14'S.
DAPEFY 10MG TABLET 14'S is prescribed for the treatment of diabetes.
Dapefy 10 contains dapagliflozin 10 mg, an SGLT2 inhibitor used mainly to help control blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus, as part of a comprehensive treatment plan that includes diet and exercise. In some patients, dapagliflozin-based products may also be prescribed to reduce the risk of hospitalization for heart failure or to slow the progression of certain forms of chronic kidney disease, according to current clinical guidelines and the doctor’s judgment.
Dapefy 10 works by selectively blocking the SGLT2 protein in the kidneys, which is responsible for reabsorbing a large portion of filtered glucose back into the bloodstream. By inhibiting this transporter, more glucose is excreted in the urine, leading to a reduction in blood sugar levels. This mechanism is largely independent of insulin, which can be beneficial in patients with insulin resistance. The medicine may also contribute to modest weight loss and a small reduction in blood pressure in many patients.
In patients with mild to moderate liver impairment, dapagliflozin-containing medicines like Dapefy 10 may be used with caution, but the decision must be individualized by the treating physician. In severe liver disease, the safety profile is less well established, and alternative options may be preferred. Liver function tests and overall clinical status should be reviewed before starting therapy, and any symptoms such as persistent fatigue, loss of appetite, dark urine, or yellowing of the skin or eyes should be reported promptly.
Because Dapefy 10 acts on the kidneys, assessment of kidney function is essential before starting and during treatment. In patients with mild to moderate chronic kidney disease, dapagliflozin may still be used and can even provide renal and cardiovascular benefits in selected cases, according to evolving evidence and product labeling. However, in advanced kidney impairment or end-stage renal disease, the glucose-lowering effect is reduced and the medicine may not be appropriate. Only a doctor can decide whether it is suitable based on estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) and overall clinical status.
Dapefy 10 is generally not recommended during pregnancy because data on the safety of dapagliflozin in pregnant women are limited, and animal studies have raised concerns about potential effects on kidney development in the fetus when exposure occurs during later stages of pregnancy. Women who are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or who suspect they may be pregnant should inform their doctor before starting or continuing Dapefy 10. The doctor may switch to an alternative antidiabetic medicine with a better-established safety profile in pregnancy, such as insulin.
The use of Dapefy 10 during breastfeeding is generally not advised because it is not known whether dapagliflozin passes into human breast milk, and there is a theoretical risk of affecting kidney development in a nursing infant. If blood sugar control is needed during lactation, the doctor will usually recommend alternative treatments with more established safety data. Mothers should discuss the risks and benefits with their healthcare provider and should not start or continue Dapefy 10 while breastfeeding without medical guidance.
Dapefy 10 itself does not usually cause drowsiness or directly impair concentration, so many patients can drive or operate machinery safely. However, when used in combination with other antidiabetic medicines that can cause low blood sugar, such as insulin or sulfonylureas, there is a risk of hypoglycemia, which may affect reaction time and alertness. Symptoms like dizziness, sweating, confusion, or blurred vision should be taken seriously. Patients should learn to recognize signs of low blood sugar and avoid driving if they feel unwell or if their blood glucose is very low.
Moderate alcohol intake may be permissible for some patients on Dapefy 10, but it should be discussed with a healthcare professional. Excessive alcohol consumption can increase the risk of dehydration, low blood sugar (especially when combined with certain other diabetes medicines), and in rare cases may contribute to conditions like ketoacidosis. Because dapagliflozin increases urine output and can predispose to volume depletion, combining it with heavy alcohol use may increase the risk of dizziness, fainting, or kidney stress. Patients with liver disease, pancreatitis, or a history of alcohol misuse should be particularly cautious.
If you have a known allergy to dapagliflozin or any of the excipients in Dapefy 10, you should not take this medicine. Signs of an allergic reaction may include rash, itching, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, severe dizziness, or difficulty breathing. These symptoms require immediate medical attention. Before starting Dapefy 10, inform your doctor about any previous allergic reactions to SGLT2 inhibitors or other medicines, as well as any history of severe skin reactions or angioedema, so that an appropriate and safe treatment plan can be chosen.
When used alone, Dapefy 10 has a relatively low risk of causing hypoglycemia because it works independently of insulin. However, the risk of low blood sugar increases when it is combined with other antidiabetic medicines that directly lower glucose, such as insulin or sulfonylureas. Symptoms of hypoglycemia include sweating, shakiness, hunger, palpitations, confusion, and in severe cases, loss of consciousness. Patients should follow their doctor’s instructions on blood sugar monitoring and may need dose adjustments of other diabetes medicines to reduce the risk of hypoglycemia.
While taking Dapefy 10, maintain adequate hydration unless your doctor has advised fluid restriction, and monitor for signs of genital or urinary tract infections, such as itching, unusual discharge, pain, or burning during urination. Inform your doctor if you experience severe or persistent abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, difficulty breathing, or extreme tiredness, as these could be signs of ketoacidosis or other serious conditions. Kidney function and, when appropriate, liver function should be checked periodically. Do not change the dose, stop the medicine, or start new medicines or herbal supplements without consulting your healthcare provider.
