DASAFAV 20 TABLET 60'S contains the active ingredient Dasatinib. It is prescribed for adults and children above one year of age diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML). This medication is specifically designed to treat newly diagnosed Philadelphia chromosome-positive (Ph+) chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) in the chronic phase. Additionally, it is used for Ph+ acute lymphoblastic leukemia in patients who have shown resistance to other therapies.
Chronic Myeloid Leukemia is a type of blood cancer characterized by the overproduction of white blood cells due to an alteration in the Philadelphia chromosome. Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, on the other hand, is the most common form of blood cancer affecting children. In this condition, the lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell, multiply excessively and have an extended lifespan, disrupting normal blood cell production and immune function.
