How EVITOL CAPSULE 15'S Works

• EPA and DHA become part of cell membranes throughout the body, including the heart, brain and eyes. They are also converted into signalling molecules that are less inflammatory than those made from other dietary fats.
• Tocotrienols are fat-soluble antioxidants. They sit in cell membranes and neutralise free radicals, the unstable molecules produced during normal metabolism and inflammation, before they damage the membrane. The NIH Office of Dietary Supplements notes that alpha-tocopherol, not tocotrienol, is the form of vitamin E recognised to meet the body's vitamin E needs.

Fish oil supplements commonly cause a fishy aftertaste, belching, heartburn, nausea, loose stools or stomach upset. Taking the capsule with food often reduces these. Omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin E-related compounds can both reduce blood clotting slightly. This matters most for people on blood thinners and before surgery. Unusual bruising, bleeding gums, nosebleeds or blood in the urine or stools should be reported. People with a fish or shellfish allergy may react to fish oil. Rash, swelling or difficulty breathing needs urgent medical help.

• Avoid combining several vitamin E or fish oil supplements

• Taking Evitol with a meal that contains some fat helps absorb the tocotrienols and omega-3 fatty acids. Oily fish such as mackerel, sardines and salmon are natural sources of EPA and DHA. Nuts, seeds and vegetable oils supply vitamin E.
