About GEMCITE 1GM INJECTION

  • GEMCITE 1GM INJECTION is a powerful chemotherapy medicine that contains the active ingredient gemcitabine. It is used to fight various types of cancer, including bladder cancer, breast cancer, ovarian cancer, pancreatic cancer, and non-small cell lung cancer. Cancer is a disease where cells in the body grow and divide in an uncontrolled and abnormal way. Before starting treatment with GEMCITE 1GM INJECTION, it's very important to tell your doctor about any other health problems you have, especially if you have heart disease, liver problems, kidney problems, or if you have recently received radiation therapy or vaccinations. Your doctor needs this information to make sure this medicine is right and safe for you.
  • This medicine is not recommended for young people under 18 years of age. While you are receiving GEMCITE 1GM INJECTION, your doctor will regularly check your blood counts and how well your kidneys and liver are working through blood tests before each dose. This helps monitor how your body is responding to the treatment and if any adjustments are needed. It's crucial for women to use effective birth control during treatment with GEMCITE 1GM INJECTION and for at least six months after the final dose, as this medication can harm an unborn baby.
  • GEMCITE 1GM INJECTION can affect fertility in men. Men receiving this treatment are strongly advised not to father a child during the course of treatment and for a period of 6 months following the last dose. If you are on a diet where you need to limit your salt intake, please tell your doctor, as this medicine contains sodium.
  • It is vital to contact your doctor immediately if you experience any concerning symptoms while taking GEMCITE 1GM INJECTION. These symptoms include sudden shortness of breath or wheezing, changes in the color or amount of your urine, any unusual bleeding or bruising, or significant pain in the upper part of your abdomen. Always inform your healthcare team about all other medicines, supplements, or herbal products you are taking to avoid potential interactions. Following your doctor's instructions precisely is key to getting the best results from your treatment.

Uses of GEMCITE 1GM INJECTION

  • Treating bladder cancer when given along with cisplatin.
  • Managing ovarian cancer when used together with carboplatin.
  • Treating breast cancer in combination therapy with paclitaxel.
  • Treating pancreatic cancer.
  • Managing Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC), either on its own or combined with cisplatin.
