Possible side effects of GLIMY MV1 Tablet may include: * **Common:** Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, loss of appetite, metallic taste, headache, dizziness, hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), skin rash, itching. * **Uncommon:** Constipation, flatulence, fatigue, weakness, blurred vision, changes in taste, increased sweating, tremor. * **Rare:** Liver problems (e.g., jaundice), blood disorders (e.g., anemia, thrombocytopenia), allergic reactions (e.g., swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat), severe skin reactions (e.g., Stevens-Johnson syndrome), pancreatitis, lactic acidosis (rare but serious).

Allergies
Contraindicated in known hypersensitivityDo not take Glimy MV1 if you have a known allergy to glimepiride, other sulfonylureas, metformin, alpha‑glucosidase inhibitors, or any of the excipients in the formulation.
Glimy MV1 is used to help control blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is prescribed when diet, exercise, and single‑drug therapy are not sufficient to achieve adequate blood glucose control. It is not indicated for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.
Glimy MV1 combines three types of antidiabetic actions. The sulfonylurea component stimulates the pancreas to release more insulin. Metformin reduces glucose production in the liver and improves the body’s sensitivity to insulin. The alpha‑glucosidase inhibitor slows the breakdown and absorption of carbohydrates in the intestine, helping to reduce post‑meal blood sugar spikes. Together, these actions help improve overall blood sugar control.
People with kidney problems must use Glimy MV1 with great caution. Metformin, one of its components, can accumulate in patients with significantly reduced kidney function and increase the risk of lactic acidosis, a rare but serious condition. The decision to use this medicine, and at what strength, depends on your estimated kidney function (eGFR or creatinine clearance). Your doctor will assess your kidney status with blood tests before starting and periodically during treatment. Never start or continue Glimy MV1 if your doctor has advised against metformin‑containing medicines due to kidney impairment.
Glimy MV1 should be used cautiously or may be avoided in patients with significant liver disease. Impaired liver function can increase the risk of lactic acidosis with metformin and may also alter the metabolism of the sulfonylurea component, raising the risk of low blood sugar. If you have a history of hepatitis, cirrhosis, fatty liver disease, or abnormal liver tests, inform your doctor before starting this medicine. Regular monitoring of liver function may be recommended, and in some cases an alternative diabetes treatment may be preferred.
Use of Glimy MV1 during pregnancy is generally not recommended unless clearly advised by a specialist. Blood sugar control is very important in pregnancy, but insulin is usually the preferred treatment because its safety profile is better established. Some components of Glimy MV1 can cross the placenta and may affect the baby’s blood sugar. If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or suspect you might be pregnant, you should discuss your treatment options with your doctor as early as possible. Do not start or stop Glimy MV1 on your own during pregnancy.
The safety of Glimy MV1 during breastfeeding is not well established. Metformin can pass into breast milk in small amounts, and there is limited information about the sulfonylurea and alpha‑glucosidase inhibitor components in nursing infants. Because of the potential risk of low blood sugar in the breastfed baby and limited safety data, your doctor may recommend either switching to insulin or choosing an alternative feeding method if Glimy MV1 is considered essential. Always discuss the risks and benefits with your healthcare provider before using this medicine while breastfeeding.
Glimy MV1 can cause low blood sugar, mainly due to its sulfonylurea component. Hypoglycemia can impair your ability to concentrate and react, which may affect driving or operating machinery. If you experience symptoms such as dizziness, confusion, blurred vision, or weakness, you should avoid driving or using heavy machines until your blood sugar is corrected and you feel normal again. Learn to recognize early signs of low blood sugar and always carry a quick source of sugar, such as glucose tablets or sugary drinks, especially when traveling or driving.
Alcohol intake should be limited or avoided while taking Glimy MV1. Alcohol can increase the risk of low blood sugar, especially when combined with sulfonylureas, and can also raise the risk of lactic acidosis associated with metformin, particularly in people with liver or kidney problems or in those who drink heavily. If you choose to drink alcohol, do so only in moderation, avoid drinking on an empty stomach, and monitor your blood sugar more closely. Discuss your alcohol use honestly with your doctor so they can advise you safely.
If you have ever had an allergic reaction to glimepiride, other sulfonylureas, metformin, alpha‑glucosidase inhibitors, or any of the excipients in Glimy MV1, you should not take this medicine. Signs of an allergic reaction can include rash, itching, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, severe dizziness, or difficulty breathing. If any of these occur after taking a dose, seek emergency medical help immediately. Inform your doctor about all previous drug allergies so that an alternative diabetes treatment can be selected.
Common side effects of Glimy MV1 include low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), especially if meals are skipped or delayed, or if you exercise more than usual. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, abdominal discomfort, diarrhea, flatulence, or a feeling of fullness may also occur. Some people may experience headache or mild dizziness. These effects are often temporary and may improve as your body adjusts to the medicine. However, persistent or severe symptoms, or signs of very low blood sugar such as confusion, fainting, or seizures, require prompt medical attention.
No, Glimy MV1 is not suitable for type 1 diabetes. Type 1 diabetes is characterized by an almost complete lack of insulin production, and insulin injections are essential for survival. Medicines like Glimy MV1, which rely partly on stimulating the pancreas to release insulin and improving insulin sensitivity, are not effective as sole therapy in type 1 diabetes and must not be used as a substitute for insulin in these patients.
Older adults may be more sensitive to the blood sugar‑lowering effects of Glimy MV1 and are at higher risk of hypoglycemia, especially if they live alone, have irregular eating patterns, or take multiple medicines. Kidney function often declines with age, which can affect the handling of metformin and increase the risk of lactic acidosis. Regular monitoring of kidney function, careful dose selection by the doctor, consistent meal patterns, and education about recognizing and treating low blood sugar are particularly important in older patients.
