Stomach and Intestines
Risk of ulcers and bleedingHifenac D tablet, like other NSAIDs, can irritate the stomach lining and increase the risk of gastritis, ulcers, and gastrointestinal bleeding, especially with long-term use or high doses.
HIFENAC D TABLET 10'S is used for relieving pain, inflammation, and fever associated with conditions like arthritis, muscle pain, and post-operative pain.
Take HIFENAC D TABLET 10'S orally with water, usually after meals, as directed by your healthcare provider.
Common side effects may include gastrointestinal discomfort like nausea or stomach upset.
It is advisable to Consult your doctor before using HIFENAC D TABLET 10'S during pregnancy.
Inform your healthcare provider about all medications you are taking to avoid potential interactions with HIFENAC D TABLET 10'S.
If you miss a dose of HIFENAC D TABLET 10'S, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it's almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue with your regular dosing schedule.
Always follow your healthcare provider's advice and read the product label for any precautions when using HIFENAC D TABLET 10'S.
Store HIFENAC D TABLET 10'S in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture.
Hifenac D tablet is mainly used to relieve pain and inflammation in conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, low back pain, neck and shoulder pain, sprains, strains, and other musculoskeletal or joint-related disorders. It may also be prescribed for short-term relief of pain after minor surgery, dental procedures, or injuries, as decided by a doctor. It provides symptomatic relief and does not cure the underlying cause of the disease.
Hifenac D tablet contains non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) components such as aceclofenac and possibly diclofenac or a related agent, depending on the brand. These medicines block the action of cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes, which are involved in the production of prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are chemical messengers that cause pain, swelling, and inflammation. By reducing prostaglandin levels, Hifenac D helps decrease pain and inflammation in joints and muscles.
Hifenac D tablet can affect liver function in some people, especially when used for a long time, at high doses, or in those who already have liver disease or consume alcohol regularly. It may cause elevation of liver enzymes or, rarely, serious liver injury. People with pre-existing liver problems should use this medicine only under close medical supervision, and liver function tests may be required periodically. If you notice yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, severe fatigue, or abdominal pain, stop the medicine and seek medical help immediately.
Hifenac D tablet should be used with great caution in patients with kidney disease because NSAIDs can reduce blood flow to the kidneys and may worsen kidney function. In people with mild to moderate kidney impairment, a doctor may decide whether the potential benefits outweigh the risks and may recommend close monitoring of kidney function. In severe kidney disease or if you have significantly reduced urine output, this medicine is usually avoided. Never take Hifenac D without medical advice if you have any kidney-related problem.
Hifenac D tablet is generally not recommended during pregnancy, especially in the third trimester, because NSAIDs can affect the baby’s heart and blood circulation, reduce amniotic fluid, and may complicate labor. In the first and second trimesters, it should only be used if clearly needed and prescribed by a doctor after carefully weighing the benefits and risks. Pregnant women should not self-medicate with Hifenac D for pain relief and should always consult their obstetrician for safer alternatives.
Use of Hifenac D tablet during breastfeeding should be decided by a doctor. Small amounts of NSAIDs may pass into breast milk. Short-term use at the lowest effective dose may be considered in some cases, but prolonged or high-dose use is generally discouraged. If you are breastfeeding, inform your doctor before starting Hifenac D so that the risk to the infant can be assessed and an appropriate pain-relief option can be chosen. Watch the baby for unusual sleepiness, feeding difficulties, or irritability and report these to a doctor.
Hifenac D tablet may cause side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, tiredness, or blurred vision in some individuals. If you experience any of these symptoms after taking the tablet, you should avoid driving, operating heavy machinery, or performing tasks that require full alertness. If you feel normal and do not have such side effects, you may drive, but it is wise to be cautious when you first start the medicine and see how your body responds.
It is advisable to avoid or minimize alcohol consumption while taking Hifenac D tablet. Both alcohol and NSAIDs can irritate the stomach lining and increase the risk of gastritis, ulcers, and bleeding. Alcohol can also add to the strain on the liver, which may already be affected by the medicine. If you regularly drink alcohol or have a history of liver disease, inform your doctor before starting Hifenac D so that the risks can be properly assessed.
If you have a history of allergy to painkillers, aspirin, ibuprofen, diclofenac, or other NSAIDs, or if you have asthma that worsens after taking such medicines, you must inform your doctor before using Hifenac D tablet. Some people can develop serious allergic reactions, including breathing difficulty, wheezing, skin rash, swelling of the face or throat, or severe dizziness. In such cases, Hifenac D may be contraindicated. If you develop any signs of allergy after taking the tablet, stop it immediately and seek emergency medical care.
Hifenac D tablet should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually with food or milk to reduce stomach irritation. Do not change the dose or frequency on your own, and do not use it for longer than advised. If you miss a dose and it is almost time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed one and continue with your regular schedule. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed tablet. If you are unsure about how to take it or how long to continue, consult your doctor or pharmacist for personalized guidance.
Hifenac D tablet should generally be avoided by people who have had an allergic reaction to aceclofenac, diclofenac, or any other NSAID, those with active or recurrent stomach or intestinal ulcers or bleeding, severe liver or kidney disease, severe heart failure, uncontrolled high blood pressure, or certain bleeding or clotting disorders. It is also usually avoided in late pregnancy. Elderly patients and those with heart disease, diabetes, high cholesterol, or a history of stroke should use it only under strict medical supervision. Always share your full medical history and current medicines with your doctor before starting Hifenac D.
