Common: headache, flushing, indigestion or heartburn, nasal congestion, back pain, and muscle aches — usually mild. Others: dizziness, mild vision changes. Serious (seek medical attention): an erection lasting more than 4 hours (priapism); sudden loss of vision or hearing; chest pain during sex (do not take nitrates); or a serious allergic reaction.
Take one tablet on demand about 30–60 minutes before sexual activity; its effect can last up to ~36 hours. Do not take more than one dose in 24 hours.
Never take it with nitrate medicines (for chest pain/angina) or 'poppers' — the combination can cause a dangerous, potentially fatal drop in blood pressure. Tell your doctor about all your medicines, especially alpha-blockers.
No. You should not drink alcohol while taking tadalafil, as it can lower your blood pressure further and increase dizziness, fainting, and headache.
Men with significant heart disease, recent heart attack or stroke, very low/uncontrolled blood pressure, or severe liver or kidney problems should avoid it or use it only under close medical supervision. Not for women or under-18s.
An erection lasting more than 4 hours (priapism) needs urgent medical attention to prevent permanent damage. Seek emergency care immediately.
