It is also used to treat newly diagnosed Philadelphia chromosome-positive (Ph+) CML in the chronic phase, and Ph+ acute lymphoblastic leukemia in patients who have shown resistance to other treatments. Chronic Myeloid Leukemia is a type of blood cancer characterized by the overproduction of white blood cells due to alterations in the Philadelphia chromosome. Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia is a common blood cancer, especially in children, where lymphocytes (a type of white blood cell) multiply rapidly and have an extended lifespan.
