How LUPIHEME TABLET 10'S Works

• Elemental iron is absorbed mainly in the upper part of the small intestine (duodenum) and is then used by the body to build haemoglobin, the protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen.
• Once absorbed, iron is carried in the blood bound to transferrin and stored in body tissues as ferritin, gradually replenishing the body's iron reserves.
• As iron stores and haemoglobin levels rise, symptoms of iron deficiency anaemia such as tiredness, weakness and breathlessness can gradually improve.

Most side effects of oral iron are mild and often settle as the body adjusts. Tell your doctor if any effect is severe or persistent.
