Allergies
Contraindicated in known hypersensitivityNimsquare must not be used in individuals with a known allergy to nimesulide, aspirin, or other NSAIDs, or in those who have previously developed liver injury with nimesulide.
Nimsquare contains nimesulide, an NSAID used for short‑term relief of pain and inflammation. Doctors may prescribe it for acute musculoskeletal pain, joint pain, dental pain, painful periods, or other acute painful conditions where they judge that the benefits outweigh the risks. It is not meant for long‑term or chronic daily use.
Nimsquare works by inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins, which are chemical mediators involved in pain, inflammation, and fever. By selectively affecting certain cyclo‑oxygenase pathways and related inflammatory mediators, nimesulide reduces swelling, relieves pain, and can help lower fever. Its effect is symptomatic; it does not cure the underlying disease causing the pain.
Nimsquare can affect the liver, and nimesulide has been associated with cases of liver injury, including serious hepatitis and, rarely, liver failure. It should not be used in patients with active liver disease or a history of nimesulide‑related liver problems. During treatment, any signs of liver trouble—such as loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, dark urine, pale stools, itching, or yellowing of the skin or eyes—require immediate medical attention and stopping the medicine unless a doctor advises otherwise. Liver function monitoring may be recommended for some patients.
Patients with mild to moderate kidney impairment should use Nimsquare only if a doctor considers it necessary and with close monitoring. NSAIDs, including nimesulide, can reduce blood flow to the kidneys and may worsen kidney function, especially in people who are dehydrated, elderly, or taking other nephrotoxic medicines. Nimsquare is generally avoided in severe kidney disease. Anyone with known kidney problems must inform their doctor before starting this medicine.
Nimsquare is generally not recommended during pregnancy. NSAIDs can affect the developing fetus, particularly in the later stages of pregnancy, and may cause complications such as premature closure of the fetal ductus arteriosus, kidney problems in the fetus, and increased bleeding risk in the mother. A pregnant woman should use Nimsquare only if a specialist clearly decides that the potential benefit outweighs the risks and no safer alternative is suitable. Pregnant women should never start or continue Nimsquare without explicit medical advice.
Use of Nimsquare during breastfeeding is usually discouraged. It is not well established how much nimesulide passes into breast milk or how it might affect a nursing infant, but potential risks to the baby cannot be ruled out. If pain relief is needed while breastfeeding, safer alternatives with better‑known safety profiles are generally preferred. A breastfeeding mother should consult her doctor before taking Nimsquare, and the doctor may advise either avoiding the drug or temporarily discontinuing breastfeeding if its use is considered essential.
Nimsquare may cause side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, fatigue, or visual disturbances in some individuals. If you experience any of these effects, your ability to drive, operate machinery, or perform tasks requiring alertness may be impaired. You should first see how the medicine affects you before engaging in such activities. If you feel light‑headed, sleepy, or unwell, avoid driving or using heavy machinery and consult your doctor.
Alcohol consumption is not advisable while taking Nimsquare. Both alcohol and nimesulide can strain the liver, and using them together may increase the risk of liver damage. Alcohol also raises the risk of stomach irritation and gastrointestinal bleeding when combined with NSAIDs. Patients should avoid or strictly limit alcohol intake during treatment and discuss their drinking habits honestly with their doctor.
People with a history of allergy to nimesulide, aspirin, or other NSAIDs should not take Nimsquare. Those with asthma, nasal polyps, or a history of aspirin‑sensitive asthma are at higher risk of severe allergic or bronchospastic reactions to NSAIDs. Symptoms such as wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, swelling of the face or throat, severe skin rash, or sudden drop in blood pressure require emergency medical care and immediate discontinuation of the medicine. Always inform your doctor about any past drug allergies or asthma before starting Nimsquare.
Nimsquare is generally not recommended for routine use in children unless specifically prescribed by a pediatric specialist who judges that the benefits outweigh the risks. Long‑term or repeated courses of nimesulide are discouraged in all age groups because of the potential for liver toxicity and other adverse effects. It is intended for short‑term management of acute pain and inflammation only. If pain is persistent or chronic, a doctor should evaluate the underlying cause and consider safer long‑term treatment options instead of prolonged Nimsquare use.
If you miss a dose of Nimsquare and it is still some time before your next scheduled dose, take it when you remember. If your next dose is due soon, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule; do not double the dose to make up for it. If you accidentally take more than prescribed, or if someone else, especially a child, takes the medicine by mistake, seek medical advice immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include severe nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, drowsiness, dizziness, or signs of bleeding. Always keep Nimsquare out of reach of children and never adjust your dose without consulting your doctor.
