Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them. Common side effects of NUCOXIA 60MG TABLET 10'S.

Cardiovascular health
Use with caution or avoid in high‑risk patientsEtoricoxib and other COX‑2 inhibitors have been associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular events such as heart attack and stroke, particularly at higher doses and with long‑term use.
It is important to consult a healthcare professional before combining NUCOXIA 60MG TABLET 10'S with other pain medications, as they may interact and increase the risk of side effects.
Consumption of alcohol should be avoided or limited while taking NUCOXIA 60MG TABLET 10'S, as it may increase the risk of stomach bleeding and other gastrointestinal side effects.
NUCOXIA 60MG TABLET 10'S's onset of action varies, but some individuals may experience relief from pain and inflammation within a few hours to a few days of starting treatment.
NUCOXIA 60MG TABLET 10'S is contraindicated during pregnancy, especially during the third trimester, as it may harm the unborn baby. Consult a healthcare professional for alternative options if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.
Drowsiness is not a common side effect of NUCOXIA 60MG TABLET 10'S. However, it may cause dizziness in some individuals. Exercise caution while performing activities that require alertness until you know how NUCOXIA 60MG TABLET 10'S affects you.
NUCOXIA 60MG TABLET 10'S can be taken with or without food. However, taking it with food may help reduce the risk of stomach upset.
If you miss a dose of NUCOXIA 60MG TABLET 10'S, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is close to the time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one.
NUCOXIA 60MG TABLET 10'S can be prescribed for long-term treatment, but the duration of use should be determined by a healthcare professional based on the individual's condition and response to treatment. Regular check-ups and monitoring may be required to evaluate its ongoing benefits and potential side effects.
Nucoxia 60 is a prescription medicine containing etoricoxib 60 mg as its active ingredient. Etoricoxib is a selective COX‑2 inhibitor, a type of non‑steroidal anti‑inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve pain and inflammation in various musculoskeletal and arthritic conditions.
Nucoxia 60 is commonly prescribed for symptomatic relief of pain and inflammation in osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute gouty arthritis, and certain acute musculoskeletal or dental pain conditions. It does not cure these diseases but helps reduce pain, swelling, and stiffness so that daily activities are easier.
Nucoxia 60 works by selectively inhibiting the cyclo‑oxygenase‑2 (COX‑2) enzyme, which is responsible for the synthesis of prostaglandins involved in pain and inflammation. By reducing prostaglandin production at sites of inflammation, it decreases pain, swelling, and tenderness, while having relatively less effect on COX‑1, which helps protect the stomach lining and supports platelet function.
Nucoxia 60 should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor. The tablet is usually swallowed whole with water and can be taken with or without food. The timing, number of doses per day, and duration of treatment depend on your specific condition and overall health status. Do not change the dose, take extra tablets, or extend the course without consulting your doctor.
Common side effects reported with Nucoxia 60 (etoricoxib) include headache, dizziness, indigestion, heartburn, abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, flatulence, and swelling of the legs or ankles due to fluid retention. Some people may also experience increased blood pressure. These effects are often mild and transient, but if they are severe, persistent, or worrying, you should contact your healthcare provider.
Serious but less common risks of Nucoxia 60 include gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation, severe allergic reactions, serious skin reactions, liver injury, kidney impairment, and cardiovascular events such as heart attack or stroke. The risk is higher in older adults and in people with pre‑existing heart disease, hypertension, kidney or liver problems, or a history of ulcers or gastrointestinal bleeding. Seek urgent medical attention if you develop chest pain, sudden shortness of breath, weakness on one side of the body, black or bloody stools, severe abdominal pain, or yellowing of the skin or eyes.
Nucoxia 60 is generally contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to etoricoxib or any component of the formulation, active peptic ulcer or gastrointestinal bleeding, severe liver impairment, significant kidney dysfunction without close monitoring, established ischemic heart disease, cerebrovascular disease, peripheral arterial disease, or uncontrolled high blood pressure. It should also not be used in patients with a history of serious allergic reactions to other NSAIDs, including aspirin‑induced asthma or angioedema, unless a specialist advises otherwise.
You should not take Nucoxia 60 together with other NSAIDs (such as ibuprofen, diclofenac, naproxen) or high‑dose aspirin, as this increases the risk of gastrointestinal and kidney side effects without providing additional benefit. Caution is required when combining it with anticoagulants, antiplatelet agents, diuretics, ACE inhibitors, angiotensin receptor blockers, certain antidepressants, and some other medicines, because of potential interactions. Always inform your doctor and pharmacist about all prescription, over‑the‑counter, and herbal products you are using before starting Nucoxia 60.
Use of Nucoxia 60 during pregnancy is generally not recommended, especially in the third trimester, because COX‑2 inhibitors and other NSAIDs may affect the fetal cardiovascular system and reduce amniotic fluid, and may complicate labor. In early pregnancy, it should only be used if the potential benefit clearly outweighs the risk and under specialist supervision. Etoricoxib may pass into breast milk to an unknown extent, so Nucoxia 60 is usually avoided during breastfeeding or used only if your doctor decides that the benefit to the mother outweighs any potential risk to the infant. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before using this medicine.
If you miss a dose of Nucoxia 60 and it is still some time before your next scheduled dose, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one. In case of accidental overdose, or if you have taken more than the prescribed amount, contact your doctor or the nearest emergency department immediately, especially if you experience symptoms such as severe stomach pain, vomiting, drowsiness, difficulty breathing, or unusual bleeding or bruising.
Nucoxia 60 may be used for chronic conditions such as osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis, but current recommendations emphasize using the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration necessary to control symptoms, due to potential cardiovascular, renal, and gastrointestinal risks with long‑term use. Regular follow‑up with your doctor is important to reassess the need for ongoing therapy, adjust the treatment plan, and monitor blood pressure, kidney function, liver function, and any signs of adverse effects.
