Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them.

Heart and QT prolongation
Use with cautionSolian 50 can prolong the QT interval on an ECG in some patients, which may increase the risk of serious heart rhythm disturbances, especially in those with pre‑existing cardiac conditions.
Yes, SOLIAN 50MG TABLET 15'S may make you sleepy, drowsy, less alert, and may even blur your vision. If you experience these symptoms you should not drive or operate heavy machinery.
The time of taking the medicine will be suggested by your doctor depending upon your dose. Doses up to 300 mg can be taken anytime of the day but preferably at the same time each day. Doses more than 300 mg can be taken half in the morning and half in the evening. You can take the medicine during or between meals.
SOLIAN 50MG TABLET 15'S belongs to antipsychotic class of medicines. It acts against dopamine receptors in the brain. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter which helps in regulating mood and behavior. Schizophrenia is associated with an overactivity of dopamine in the brain, and this overactivity may cause delusions and hallucinations. SOLIAN 50MG TABLET 15'S prevents this excessive activity of dopamine in the brain which helps in treating symptoms of schizophrenia.
No, there is no data to support the use of SOLIAN 50MG TABLET 15'S in the treatment of anxiety. On the contrary, anxiety is a common side effect of SOLIAN 50MG TABLET 15'S.
No, you should keep taking SOLIAN 50MG TABLET 15'S as long as your doctor has advised. Do not stop the medication even if you feel better. Stopping it suddenly may worsen your condition or symptoms may come back. Talk to your doctor who will gradually reduce your dose.
You should not take SOLIAN 50MG TABLET 15'S if you are under 15 years of age, allergic to it, have breast cancer or a tumor known as prolactinoma. Avoid taking SOLIAN 50MG TABLET 15'S if you are breastfeeding, have tumor of adrenal glands (pheochromocytoma), or if you are taking certain medicines like levodopa, medicines to treat heart rhythm disorders, etc.
No, there is no evidence to say that SOLIAN 50MG TABLET 15'S causes addiction. Also, its use is not known to have any tendency for abuse.
Suddenly stopping SOLIAN 50MG TABLET 15'S may cause withdrawal symptoms which include nausea, vomiting, sweating, difficulty sleeping, extreme restlessness, muscle stiffness or abnormal movements, or your original condition may come back. Therefore, it is advised to gradually reduce the dose of SOLIAN 50MG TABLET 15'S.
Solian 50 contains amisulpride, an antipsychotic medicine used mainly to treat schizophrenia and related psychotic disorders. It helps reduce symptoms such as hallucinations, delusions, disorganized thinking, and may also improve negative symptoms like social withdrawal and lack of motivation. It is prescribed and monitored by a healthcare professional experienced in mental health conditions.
Solian 50 works by selectively blocking dopamine D2 and D3 receptors in certain areas of the brain. In schizophrenia, dopamine activity is often dysregulated. By modulating dopamine transmission, amisulpride helps reduce positive symptoms (such as hallucinations and delusions) and, at some dose ranges, may improve negative symptoms like emotional flattening and reduced social interaction.
You should take Solian 50 exactly as prescribed by your doctor. The dose, timing, and duration are individualized based on your condition, age, kidney function, and response to treatment. Swallow the tablets with water, with or without food, and try to take them at the same time each day. Do not change the dose, skip doses, or stop the medicine without consulting your doctor, as this can lead to worsening of symptoms or withdrawal‑like effects.
Common side effects of Solian 50 can include drowsiness or insomnia, dizziness, weight gain, increased prolactin levels (which may cause menstrual changes, breast enlargement, or milk production), and gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea or constipation. Some people may experience movement‑related side effects like tremor, stiffness, restlessness, or abnormal muscle contractions. Inform your doctor if any side effect is severe, persistent, or troubling.
Amisulpride is not primarily cleared by the liver, and significant liver toxicity is uncommon. However, any medicine can potentially affect liver function in susceptible individuals. Your doctor may check liver function tests if you have pre‑existing liver disease or develop symptoms such as persistent nausea, fatigue, dark urine, or yellowing of the skin or eyes. Always inform your doctor about any history of liver problems before starting Solian 50.
Amisulpride is mainly eliminated through the kidneys, so impaired kidney function can increase its levels in the body. In patients with mild to moderate kidney impairment, the doctor may reduce the dose and monitor more closely. In severe kidney disease, Solian 50 may be contraindicated or used only with great caution. If you have any kidney problems or are on dialysis, you must inform your doctor before taking this medicine.
Use of Solian 50 during pregnancy requires careful risk–benefit assessment by your doctor. Antipsychotic use in late pregnancy has been associated with symptoms in newborns such as agitation, abnormal muscle tone, tremor, sleepiness, breathing difficulties, or feeding problems. If you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or become pregnant while taking Solian 50, do not stop the medicine on your own; instead, speak to your doctor promptly to discuss the safest approach for you and your baby.
Amisulpride can pass into breast milk, and because it can increase prolactin levels, it may influence milk production. Due to the potential for adverse effects in the breastfed infant, breastfeeding is generally not recommended while taking Solian 50 unless your doctor decides that the benefits outweigh the risks. Your doctor may advise either switching to an alternative treatment or avoiding breastfeeding while on this medicine.
Alcohol is not recommended while taking Solian 50. Both alcohol and amisulpride can affect the central nervous system, and taking them together may increase drowsiness, dizziness, impaired judgment, and the risk of accidents. Alcohol can also worsen psychiatric symptoms and interfere with treatment. If you drink alcohol, discuss this with your doctor so you can receive personalized advice and support to reduce or avoid alcohol use.
Solian 50 can cause drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, or reduced alertness in some people, especially when starting treatment or when the dose is changed. Until you know how the medicine affects you, you should avoid driving, operating machinery, or performing tasks that require full concentration. If you feel sleepy, dizzy, or less alert, do not drive and inform your doctor, who may adjust your treatment if necessary.
Do not take Solian 50 if you have a known allergy to amisulpride or any of the other ingredients in the tablet. Signs of an allergic reaction can include rash, itching, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, severe dizziness, or difficulty breathing. This is a medical emergency and requires immediate attention. Inform your doctor about any previous allergic reactions to antipsychotic medicines or other drugs before starting treatment.
You should not stop Solian 50 suddenly without medical advice, even if you feel better. Schizophrenia and related conditions are long‑term illnesses, and stopping treatment abruptly can lead to relapse of symptoms or withdrawal‑like effects such as insomnia, anxiety, or agitation. Your doctor will decide if and when it is appropriate to reduce or stop the medicine and will usually recommend a gradual dose reduction with close monitoring.
