About TEMOTHER 100 CAPSULE 5'S

TEMOTHER 100 CAPSULE 5'S contains the active ingredient temozolomide and belongs to the class of medications known as Antitumor agents. It is prescribed to treat brain cancer, such as glioblastoma multiforme in adults and malignant glioma, including glioblastoma multiforme or anaplastic astrocytoma in patients older than three years. Glioblastoma and anaplastic astrocytoma are the most common and aggressive brain cancers with low chances of survival. Anaplastic astrocytoma is treated with TEMOTHER 100 CAPSULE 5'S or radiotherapy after biopsy, whereas Glioblastoma multiforme is treated with a combination of radiotherapy and TEMOTHER 100 CAPSULE 5'S and it is continued as maintenance therapy.
TEMOTHER 100 CAPSULE 5'S works by damaging the DNA of cancer cells, which prevents them from growing and multiplying. It is an alkylating agent, meaning it adds an alkyl group to the DNA. This disrupts the DNA's structure and function, ultimately leading to cell death. The medication can be taken orally, making it a convenient treatment option for many patients.
