How ZEDEX COUGH SYRUP 100 ML Works

• Dextromethorphan acts on the cough centre in the brain, raising the threshold needed to trigger the cough reflex, which reduces the urge to cough.
• Chlorpheniramine maleate blocks histamine H1 receptors, easing the runny nose, sneezing, and itchy or watery eyes caused by an allergic or cold-related histamine response. Because it is a first-generation antihistamine, it also has a sedating effect, which can help ease a cough that disturbs sleep.

Drowsiness, dry mouth, dizziness and constipation are the most commonly reported effects. Blurred vision and urinary retention have also been reported, related to the antihistamine component. A rapid heartbeat, confusion, seizures, hallucinations, or signs of a severe allergic reaction such as facial swelling or breathing difficulty need immediate medical attention.

• If you miss a dose of Zedex Cough Syrup, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.

• Store the bottle in its original pack, at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture, and out of the reach of children.

• Shake the bottle well and measure the dose with the device provided
• Avoid driving or operating machinery until it is known how this syrup affects alertness
• Avoid alcohol during treatment, since it can increase drowsiness
• See a doctor if the cough persists beyond about a week or is accompanied by fever, rash or a persistent headache
• Discontinue and seek medical attention if a rash, facial swelling or breathing difficulty occurs

• Zedex can be taken with or without food. There is no other specific food interaction established for this product.
