How ZOCON AS KIT TABLET 1'S Works

• Azithromycin binds to the bacterial ribosome and interferes with bacterial protein synthesis, stopping susceptible bacteria from growing and multiplying.
• Fluconazole inhibits the production of ergosterol, a component the fungal cell membrane needs to stay intact. Weakening this membrane leads to leakage of the fungal cell's contents and its death.
• Secnidazole is taken up by susceptible anaerobic bacteria and protozoa, where it is converted into reactive compounds that damage the organism's DNA, leading to its death. This action targets the anaerobic bacteria and protozoa that can be present in mixed genital infections. Secnidazole has a longer half-life than some related nitroimidazoles, which is why it is often given as a single dose within a combination kit like this one.

Nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhoea and a metallic taste are commonly reported. Headache and dizziness can also occur. A widespread skin rash, yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, or a noticeably irregular heartbeat need prompt medical attention, since these can point to a more serious reaction.

• Store the tablets in their original pack, at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture, and out of the reach of children and pets. Do not use the tablets after the expiry date printed on the pack.

• Complete the full course as prescribed, even if symptoms improve before it is finished
• Take the tablets after a meal to reduce stomach upset
• Avoid alcohol during treatment and for a few days after the dose
• Avoid grapefruit or grapefruit juice around the time of dosing
• Tell the doctor about any liver, kidney or heart rhythm condition before starting
• Seek urgent medical help for yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, a widespread rash or breathing difficulty

• Zocon AS Kit can be taken with or without food, though taking it after a meal can help reduce stomach upset. A large or fatty meal around the time of dosing should be avoided.
• Grapefruit or grapefruit juice should be avoided, since it can raise blood levels of some of these medicines and increase the risk of side effects.
