It is also used in the treatment of newly diagnosed Philadelphia chromosome-positive (Ph+) CML in the chronic phase, and Ph+ acute lymphoblastic leukemia in patients who have shown resistance to other therapies. Chronic Myeloid Leukemia is a type of blood cancer characterized by an overproduction of white blood cells due to an alteration in the Philadelphia chromosome. Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia is a blood cancer predominantly affecting children, where lymphocytes (a type of white blood cell) multiply excessively and have a prolonged lifespan.
