Monitor for diarrheaAlthough applied to the skin, clindamycin can be absorbed systemically in small amounts, and there have been rare reports of antibiotic-associated colitis, including Clostridioides difficile–associated diarrhea, with topical formulations.
Clindac A Gel 30 GM is primarily used for the treatment of acne (pimples). It works by reducing bacteria on the skin and decreasing inflammation.
The main active ingredients in Clindac A Gel 30 GM are Clindamycin and Adapalene.
Clindac A Gel 30 GM is usually applied once a day, before bedtime, in a thin layer to the affected area. Wash and dry the skin before applying.
Common side effects of Clindac A Gel 30 GM include skin dryness, redness, burning sensation, and itching.
Avoid exposure to sunlight or use sunscreen while using Clindac A Gel 30 GM. Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, and nose.
Pregnant women should consult a doctor before using Clindac A Gel 30 GM.
Breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before using Clindac A Gel 30 GM.
Store Clindac A Gel 30 GM at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and heat.
Consult a doctor before using Clindac A Gel 30 GM with other medications, especially other topical medications.
It may take a few weeks to see results with Clindac A Gel 30 GM.
If you miss a dose of Clindac A Gel 30 GM, apply it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and follow your regular schedule.
Clindac A Gel 30 GM does not directly help reduce acne scars, but it can help prevent acne and reduce inflammation, which may indirectly reduce scarring.
Clindac A Gel 30 GM can help treat blackheads and whiteheads as it contains Adapalene, which helps to renew skin cells.
Clindac A Gel 30 GM contains both Clindamycin and Adapalene, making it more effective for treating acne. Other Clindamycin products may only contain Clindamycin.
Clindac A Gel 30 GM should be applied only to the affected areas, not to the entire face, unless directed by a doctor.
Clindac A Gel is used for the topical treatment of acne vulgaris, particularly inflammatory acne lesions such as papules and pustules. It contains clindamycin, an antibiotic that reduces acne-causing bacteria and local inflammation on the skin.
Clindac A Gel works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis in Cutibacterium acnes and other susceptible bacteria on the skin. This reduces bacterial count and decreases the production of inflammatory substances, which helps lessen redness, swelling, and the number of acne lesions.
Improvement with Clindac A Gel is usually gradual. Some patients may notice initial changes within a few weeks, but optimal benefit often requires several weeks of regular use. If there is no improvement after a reasonable treatment period, or if acne worsens, a healthcare professional should be consulted.
Clindac A Gel is mainly effective for inflammatory acne lesions such as red papules and pustules. It may be less effective as a sole treatment for predominantly comedonal acne (blackheads and whiteheads). In such cases, it is often combined with other agents, such as topical retinoids or benzoyl peroxide, under medical supervision.
Clindac A Gel can be used on sensitive skin with caution. Some individuals may experience dryness, irritation, or burning, especially at the start of therapy. If irritation is mild, a doctor may advise adjusting frequency of application. If severe redness, swelling, or discomfort occurs, use should be stopped and medical advice sought.
Clindac A Gel should not be applied to broken, severely irritated, or sunburned skin unless specifically directed by a healthcare professional. Application on compromised skin may increase irritation and systemic absorption. Avoid using it on cuts, open wounds, or areas with active eczema.
Yes, Clindac A Gel can cause local side effects such as dryness, peeling, mild burning, or redness. These effects are often mild and may improve as the skin adapts. Using a non-comedogenic moisturizer and avoiding harsh cleansers can help. If dryness or irritation becomes pronounced, consult your doctor.
Clindac A Gel is often used in combination with other topical or systemic acne treatments, such as benzoyl peroxide, retinoids, or oral antibiotics, depending on the severity of acne. However, combining multiple products can increase irritation. Any combination regimen should be planned and supervised by a dermatologist or healthcare professional.
Systemic absorption of clindamycin from topical use is usually low, but serious side effects such as antibiotic-associated colitis, including Clostridioides difficile–associated diarrhea, have been reported rarely. If you develop persistent or severe diarrhea, abdominal pain, or blood or mucus in stools while using Clindac A Gel, stop the medicine and seek medical attention immediately.
Data on topical clindamycin in pregnancy and breastfeeding are limited, but systemic absorption is generally low. Use during pregnancy or lactation should only occur if clearly needed and after a risk–benefit assessment by a healthcare professional. During breastfeeding, avoid applying the gel on or near the breasts to prevent accidental ingestion by the infant.
Clindac A Gel is for external use on the skin only. If it accidentally gets into the eyes, mouth, inside the nose, or on mucous membranes, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water. If irritation persists or vision changes occur after eye exposure, seek medical attention promptly.
You should follow your doctor’s instructions regarding treatment duration. Some patients may need maintenance therapy to help prevent relapse, while others may discontinue after adequate control is achieved. Stopping abruptly without medical advice may lead to recurrence of acne in some individuals.
