How CLINSOL GEL 15 GM Works

• Clindamycin binds to a component of the bacterial ribosome, blocking the ability of Cutibacterium acnes (formerly Propionibacterium acnes) to make the proteins it needs to grow. This reduces the bacterial population on the skin that contributes to acne lesions and the inflammation around them.
• Nicotinamide has anti-inflammatory properties that help calm the redness and swelling of acne lesions, and it is also believed to help regulate sebum production and support the skin's natural barrier function. Combining an antibiotic with nicotinamide addresses both the bacterial and inflammatory aspects of acne together.

Dryness, peeling, redness, itching and a burning sensation at the application site are the most commonly reported effects. Contact dermatitis and increased skin oiliness have also been reported. An allergic reaction, such as widespread rash or swelling, is uncommon but needs immediate medical attention if breathing difficulty occurs.

• If you forget to apply Clinsol Gel at the usual time, apply it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next application, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not apply a double dose to make up for the one you missed.

• Store the tube in its original pack, at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture, and out of the reach of children.

• Cleanse and dry the skin gently before applying a thin layer
• Avoid the eyes, nose, mouth and broken or irritated skin
• Use a non-comedogenic moisturiser if dryness or peeling becomes bothersome
• Continue using this gel for the full duration the prescriber has advised, even if the skin starts to improve
• Discontinue and seek medical advice if a widespread rash, swelling or breathing difficulty occurs
