In most cases, side effects are temporary and disappear as your body adapts to the medication. If these effects continue or cause concern, it is important to seek advice from your doctor.

Allergies
Contraindicated in hypersensitivityDo not take Dydroboon 10 mg if you are allergic to dydrogesterone or any of the excipients listed in the official product leaflet.
Take the medicine exactly as directed by your doctor. The dose and duration of treatment depends on why you are being prescribed DYDROBOON 10MG TABLET 10'S and your response to the treatment. You may take it with or without food, preferably at the same time of each day.
DYDROBOON 10MG TABLET 10'S is used to relieve the symptoms of endometriosis (a problem caused by growth of the womb lining outside the womb) and treat infertility due to low levels of progesterone. It also relieves painful periods, controls irregular periods (that come at the wrong time or not at all) and resolves the symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS). Additionally, it restarts periods that have stopped before the menopause (amenorrhoea) and also helps to stop or prevent unusually heavy or long periods (often due to the start of the menopause).
DYDROBOON 10MG TABLET 10'S may cause an increased risk of hypospadias which is a birth defect of the penis involving the urinary opening. This occurs in children whose mothers have taken certain progestogens. However, the chance of developing this increased risk is not yet certain. So far, there is no evidence that taking DYDROBOON 10MG TABLET 10'S during pregnancy is harmful. Discuss with your doctor the risks and benefits of taking DYDROBOON 10MG TABLET 10'S during pregnancy.
DYDROBOON 10MG TABLET 10'S is a man-made version of progesterone, the natural female sex hormone. It is used in conditions when your body does not produce enough progesterone.
DYDROBOON 10MG TABLET 10'S is used to prevent habitual abortion (miscarriage) and possible cases of abortion that may be occurring due to lack of the hormone progesterone. If the reason behind the miscarriage is due to this deficiency, DYDROBOON 10MG TABLET 10'S can definitely prevent a miscarriage. However, DYDROBOON 10MG TABLET 10'S should never be taken without consulting a doctor. It is advised that you should follow the instructions of your doctor carefully to make sure it works best for you.
You should not take DYDROBOON 10MG TABLET 10'S if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to it, have a tumor that is made worse by progestins (such as meningioma) or if you have irregular or unusually heavy periods with an unknown cause.
If you forget to take today’s tablet and it is less than 12 hours late, take it as soon as you remember. Continue taking the next scheduled tablet at the normal time. But, if it is more than 12 hours since you should have taken your tablet, miss this tablet out and continue the medication as prescribed. Remember not to take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose. Missing a tablet may cause irregular bleeding or spotting.
DYDROBOON 10MG TABLET 10'S may cause breast pain as a side effect. However, a thorough breast examination is recommended before starting treatment with DYDROBOON 10MG TABLET 10'S. Also, if you notice any breast related changes, like, any lumps, change in fullness, breast heaviness, etc., talk to your doctor about it.
Dydroboon 10 mg contains dydrogesterone, a synthetic progesterone, and is generally used in conditions where there is a deficiency or imbalance of progesterone. Depending on your doctor’s prescription and local approvals, it may be used for menstrual irregularities, certain types of abnormal uterine bleeding, painful periods, premenstrual symptoms, or to support the luteal phase in infertility treatment. Always follow the specific indication and instructions given by your gynecologist or fertility specialist.
Dydroboon 10 mg works by providing dydrogesterone, which acts similarly to natural progesterone. Progesterone helps regulate the menstrual cycle, stabilizes the uterine lining, and supports early pregnancy. When your body does not produce enough progesterone, it can lead to irregular bleeding or difficulty maintaining a pregnancy. By supplementing progesterone activity, Dydroboon 10 mg helps restore hormonal balance and normal endometrial function as directed by your doctor.
You should take Dydroboon 10 mg exactly as prescribed by your doctor and as described in the official patient information leaflet. The dose, frequency, and duration depend on the condition being treated, your menstrual pattern, and other individual factors. Swallow the tablet with water, with or without food, unless your doctor advises otherwise. Do not change the dose or schedule on your own, and do not use this medicine for any condition that has not been evaluated by a healthcare professional.
If you miss a dose of Dydroboon 10 mg, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for your next scheduled dose. If it is close to the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten tablet. If you are unsure what to do or if you miss multiple doses, contact your doctor or pharmacist for personalized advice.
Use of Dydroboon 10 mg during pregnancy must be strictly guided by a specialist. In some situations, dydrogesterone may be prescribed to support early pregnancy when there is a documented progesterone deficiency or certain pregnancy-related conditions, according to local guidelines and your doctor’s judgment. You should never start or continue Dydroboon 10 mg in pregnancy without explicit medical advice. Inform your doctor immediately if you become pregnant or suspect pregnancy while taking this medicine so that your treatment can be reassessed.
The use of dydrogesterone during breastfeeding should be decided by your doctor after weighing the potential benefits and risks. Limited data suggest that small amounts of progestogens may pass into breast milk, but the clinical significance is not fully established. Your doctor may decide whether to continue or discontinue breastfeeding or to adjust your treatment based on your specific situation. Do not use Dydroboon 10 mg while breastfeeding without discussing it with a healthcare professional.
There is no well-established direct interaction between moderate alcohol intake and dydrogesterone, but alcohol can affect liver function and overall hormonal balance. Because Dydroboon 10 mg is processed by the liver, excessive alcohol consumption may increase the risk of side effects or liver strain. It is advisable to limit or avoid alcohol while on this medication and to follow your doctor’s recommendations based on your liver health and overall medical condition.
Caution is required when using Dydroboon 10 mg in patients with liver or kidney impairment. Dydrogesterone is metabolized in the liver, and significant liver disease may affect how the medicine is processed, potentially increasing side effects or reducing safety. In moderate to severe liver disease, this medicine may be contraindicated or require close monitoring, depending on official product information. Kidney impairment may also require careful assessment. Always inform your doctor about any history of liver or kidney problems before starting Dydroboon 10 mg so that they can decide whether it is appropriate for you.
Dydroboon 10 mg is not generally known to impair the ability to drive or operate machinery in most people. However, some individuals may experience side effects such as dizziness, headache, or fatigue. If you notice these or any symptoms that could affect concentration or reaction time, avoid driving, using heavy machinery, or performing tasks that require full alertness until you feel well again. If such symptoms persist or are severe, consult your doctor.
Possible side effects of Dydroboon 10 mg may include headache, nausea, breast tenderness, mild abdominal discomfort, mood changes, or changes in menstrual bleeding patterns such as spotting or breakthrough bleeding. Not everyone will experience side effects, and many are mild and temporary. However, allergic reactions are possible. Seek urgent medical help if you develop rash, itching, hives, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, or difficulty breathing. Inform your doctor if you have a history of allergies to hormones, dydrogesterone, or any of the excipients listed in the product leaflet before starting treatment.
Dydroboon 10 mg may interact with certain other medicines that affect hormone levels or liver enzymes, such as some anti-epileptic drugs, anti-tuberculosis medicines, or herbal products like St. John’s wort. These interactions can potentially reduce the effectiveness of dydrogesterone or increase side effects. Always provide your doctor and pharmacist with a complete list of all prescription medicines, over-the-counter drugs, and herbal or dietary supplements you are taking. Do not start or stop any other medicine while on Dydroboon 10 mg without medical advice.
