How DUPHASTON 10MG TABLET 10'S Works

• Dydrogesterone binds to progesterone receptors in the uterus, supporting the development and maintenance of the endometrium, the uterine lining. This helps prepare the uterus for a fertilised egg to implant and supports early pregnancy.
• It also helps regulate the normal cycle of building up and shedding the uterine lining, which can reduce abnormal or heavy bleeding and support more predictable periods. Unlike some other progestogens, it has little androgenic, oestrogenic or other hormonal activity, which is why it is generally well tolerated when added to oestrogen-based hormone replacement therapy or used to support pregnancy.

Breakthrough bleeding or spotting between periods, breast tenderness or pain, headache and nausea are the most commonly reported effects. Migraine and mood changes have also been reported. A sudden severe headache, chest pain, breathlessness, leg swelling or pain, or yellowing of the skin or eyes need immediate medical attention, since these can indicate a blood clot or liver problem.

• Store the tablets in their original pack, at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture, and out of the reach of children and pets.

• Take at the same time each day as advised by the prescriber
• Complete the full course as prescribed, even if feeling better
• Report any unexplained vaginal bleeding to the prescriber
• Tell the prescriber about any history of blood clots or liver disease before starting
• Seek urgent medical attention for a sudden severe headache, chest pain, breathlessness, leg swelling, or yellowing of the skin or eyes
