INSUGEN N 100IU/ML VIAL 10 ML is used to manage blood sugar levels in people with diabetes mellitus, particularly type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
Store unopened vials in the refrigerator (2°C to 8°C). Once in use, it can be kept at room temperature (up to 25°C) for a specified period (check the product leaflet for details). Avoid direct sunlight and heat.
Common side effects include hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), injection site reactions (redness, swelling, itching), and lipodystrophy (changes in fat tissue at the injection site).
INSUGEN N is an intermediate-acting insulin. It works by replacing the insulin that your body cannot produce or isn't producing enough of, helping glucose to move from the blood into other body tissues where it is used for energy. This lowers blood sugar levels.
If you experience symptoms of hypoglycemia (sweating, shaking, dizziness, confusion), consume a fast-acting source of sugar such as glucose tablets, fruit juice, or a sugary drink. Monitor your blood sugar and consult your doctor if hypoglycemia persists.
Consult your doctor before using INSUGEN N during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Insulin requirements may change during these periods, and your doctor can adjust your dosage accordingly.
INSUGEN N is an intermediate-acting insulin, while other types include rapid-acting, short-acting, and long-acting insulins. The duration of action varies among these types. INSUGEN N has a longer duration than rapid and short acting, but shorter than long acting insulins.
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before mixing INSUGEN N with other insulins. Some insulins are compatible for mixing, while others are not. Follow your doctor's instructions carefully.
An overdose of INSUGEN N can lead to severe hypoglycemia. Seek immediate medical attention if you suspect an overdose. Symptoms may include loss of consciousness, seizures, or coma.
Yes, exercise can affect your blood sugar levels and insulin requirements. You may need to adjust your INSUGEN N dosage or carbohydrate intake based on your activity level. Consult your doctor for personalized advice.
Yes, you can travel with INSUGEN N. Carry a sufficient supply of insulin, syringes, and blood glucose monitoring equipment. Keep the insulin in its original packaging and avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures. A doctor's letter can be helpful.
Monitor your blood sugar levels as directed by your doctor. Typically, this includes before meals, at bedtime, and occasionally after meals. Regular monitoring is crucial for managing your diabetes effectively.
Consult your doctor for guidance on what to do if you miss a dose of INSUGEN N. Do not double your next dose to make up for the missed one. They will provide personalized instructions based on your specific situation.
Follow the dietary recommendations provided by your doctor or a registered dietitian. A balanced diet with consistent carbohydrate intake is important for managing blood sugar levels while using insulin.
Inject INSUGEN N subcutaneously (under the skin) as instructed by your healthcare provider. Rotate injection sites to prevent lipodystrophy. Use a new needle for each injection.
