How MACBERY JUNIOR SYRUP 60 ML Works

• Ambroxol increases the water content of respiratory secretions and breaks down the structure of thick mucus, making it thinner and easier to cough up. Guaifenesin works alongside it as an expectorant, similarly helping to loosen mucus so it can be cleared more comfortably from the airways.
• Levosalbutamol, the active isomer of salbutamol, is a bronchodilator that relaxes the smooth muscle around the airways, widening them and easing the flow of air in and out of the lungs. Combining a mucolytic and expectorant with a bronchodilator addresses both the mucus build-up and the airway narrowing that can occur together in productive cough with bronchospasm.

Nausea, stomach upset, altered taste and dry mouth or throat are the most commonly reported effects. Tremor, palpitations, headache, nervousness and muscle cramps have also been reported, related to the bronchodilator component. A rare but serious skin reaction, including a widespread rash with blistering or involvement of the mouth, eyes or genitals, needs immediate medical attention. Signs of a severe allergic reaction also need immediate medical attention.

• If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.

• Store the bottle in its original pack, at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture, and out of the reach of children.

• Shake the bottle well and use the measuring cup or spoon provided for an accurate amount
• Stay well hydrated, since adequate fluid intake supports the clearance of loosened mucus
• Keep a separate reliever or preventer inhaler available if one has been prescribed
• See a doctor if the cough persists beyond about a week or is accompanied by fever or chest pain
• Discontinue and seek medical attention if a rash, blistering, or facial swelling and breathing difficulty occur

• Macbery Junior can be taken with or without food. There is no other specific food interaction established for this product.
