Gluject Trio is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults when diet and exercise are not enough to control blood sugar levels. It contains a combination of three antidiabetic medicines: Glimepiride, Metformin, and Voglibose.
Take Gluject Trio as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew, or break it. It is usually taken with meals to reduce the risk of stomach upset.
Common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). If you experience any severe or persistent side effects, contact your doctor.
It is generally not recommended to drink alcohol while taking Gluject Trio, as it can increase the risk of hypoglycemia and other side effects. Consult your doctor for advice.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for your next dose. In that case, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.
Gluject Trio is generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. It is important to discuss alternative treatment options with your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
Gluject Trio can interact with several other medications, including certain antibiotics, antifungals, blood pressure medications, and other diabetes medications. Inform your doctor about all the medications you are taking before starting Gluject Trio.
Store Gluject Trio at room temperature, away from heat, moisture, and direct sunlight. Keep it out of reach of children.
Yes, Gluject Trio can cause hypoglycemia, especially if you skip meals, exercise excessively, or take it with other diabetes medications. Be aware of the symptoms of hypoglycemia, such as sweating, dizziness, and confusion, and know how to treat it.
Symptoms of hyperglycemia include increased thirst, frequent urination, blurred vision, and fatigue. If you experience these symptoms, check your blood sugar levels and contact your doctor.
Gluject Trio may not be safe for people with severe kidney problems. Metformin, one of the ingredients in Gluject Trio, can accumulate in the body and cause lactic acidosis. Discuss your kidney function with your doctor before taking this medication.
The frequency of blood sugar monitoring will depend on your individual needs and your doctor's recommendations. Generally, it is recommended to check your blood sugar levels before meals and at bedtime, or as directed by your doctor.
Weight gain is a potential side effect of some diabetes medications, including sulfonylureas like glimepiride, which is one of the components of Gluject Trio. Discuss this with your doctor if you are concerned about weight gain.
Glimepiride is a sulfonylurea that lowers blood sugar by stimulating the release of insulin from the pancreas.
